Position Overview

 The Business Engagement & Agile Lead is accountable for ensuring that the Procurement organization delivers results in support of the NA and LATAM MedTech business strategy and objectives. Reporting to the Senior Director, MedTech Business Engagement Leader Americas, this role will lead Procurement engagement with selected business units and regions including, Company Presidents, Platform Leaders, regional business leaders, franchise finance directors and other relevant cross-functional partners to align Procurement’s activities in support of the business.  This role will sit on the MedTech Procurement Extended Leadership Team and help set the functional strategy for the sector.

Responsibilities:

  • Orchestrate the delivery of procurement services across the One Procurement operating model (MedTech Procurement and Global Services Procurement including Service Delivery).

  • Understand long range requirements of the MedTech business and engage in strategic planning and collaboration to ensure Procurement alignment to those requirements

  • Identify MedTech industry trends that Procurement must build into its category strategies to ensure sustainable relevance to the business

  • Lead strategic projects designed to address the most pressing business challenges

  • Deliver on financial, service, reliability, quality, innovation, and growth commitments

  • Anticipate business demand requirements and partner with Category Leads to deliver annual value improvements that drive competitive advantage

  • Build and maintain relationships throughout J&J that result in dynamic interactive dialogue on a broad range of perspectives and information critical to the development of optimal approaches and solutions

  • Motivate, lead, and develop a team of both direct reports and non-direct reports consisting of category and agile resources across geographies

  • Lead resource management leveraging the use of agile practices and tools to manage prioritization, capacity, etc.

  • Participate in the MedTech Procurement Extended Leadership Team, to support the function globally in the achievement of MedTech business objectives

  • Escalate issues that may impact the business or Global Procurement organization

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a business related field, MBA a plus.

  • Strong business acumen – the ability to understand challenges through the eyes of the business leaders

  • Influencing skills – the ability to persuade others to change behavior in pursuit of a common goal

  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills at the senior executive level, as well as with peers

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to confidently present complex information to senior executives

  • Broad-based understanding of core procurement areas of focus (spend management, category management and supplier management)

  • Strong project and change management capabilities

  • Strong experience with agile methodologies and tools

  • Demonstrated learning agility, and the ability to improve both yourself and the people around you

Preferred:

  • Experienced professional with business experience in multiple roles across a variety of functional specialties including general management, R&D, Marketing, Supply Chain or a Technical field with at least 7+ years within Procurement.

  • Experience managing teams as a people leader

Other:

  • Requires up to 25% domestic/international travel

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

$150,000 - $258,750

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis. Employees and/or eligible dependents may be eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance. Employees may be eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)). This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program.
