Job Description:
As a Senior Payments Operations Analyst, this role is accountable for the stability, scalability, and risk integrity of payment operations. The position focuses on optimizing end‑to‑end payment systems, defining and governing key performance metrics (e.g., transaction speed, failure rates, chargeback ratios), and serving as a primary escalation point for complex or high‑impact payment issues. The role requires advanced analytical judgment, strong cross‑functional influence, and the ability to translate transaction‑level data into strategic insights that drive system improvements, mitigate risk, and support business decision‑making.
What You'll Do:
Provide oversight and quality control for high value payments, ACH files, and card transactions, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and system stability
Monitor transaction performance and trends to proactively identify risks, anomalies, and potential system impacts
Lead complex investigations into payment discrepancies and transaction failures
Perform in depth root cause analysis to determine operational, technical, or external drivers and recommend corrective and preventative actions
Ensure payment operations adhere to financial regulations (e.g., AML, KYC) and internal control requirements
Maintain audit ready documentation and partner with compliance and audit teams to address findings and strengthen controls
Identify control gaps, inefficiencies, and scalability risks within payment workflows
Partner with Product, Engineering, and Finance teams to design and implement process and system enhancements that improve efficiency, reliability, and risk posture
Act as a senior subject matter expert supporting Customer Support, Finance, and R&D teams on payment data, escalations, and complex technical issues
Translate transaction level insights into actionable recommendations for stakeholders
Oversee the review, investigation, and resolution of incoming chargeback claims to assess validity and financial exposure
Develop and submit comprehensive analysis using transaction data, receipts, records, and user logs
Analyze chargeback ratios, trends, and fraud indicators to provide strategic insights and drive preventative controls in partnership with payment and fraud teams
