VP, Head of Digital Health Analytics Products

About the role:

Alcon is looking to hire a Head of Digital Health Analytics Products for our Digital Health team to define and implement a data and analytics strategy across our suite of digital health solutions.

Our Digital Health team is harnessing technology to build a leading portfolio of digital health solutions that will transform the eye care experience for medical professionals to patients and enable improved patient outcomes – from a predictive health care delivery platform harnessing ML and analytics to innovative medical device software.

As Head of Digital Health Analytics Products, you will be the visionary force and champion for data-driven growth and innovation at Digital Health. You will be responsible for establishing an efficient data architecture across product teams, identifying transformative data analytics use-cases to drive growth and build our data and analytics capabilities by developing a high performing team of data and analytics talent. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and implementation of the data and analytics strategy across our suite of digital healthcare solutions
• Develop and maintain an efficient and effective data architecture that enables the product teams to collect, store, analyze, model and report data for their software solutions and digital platforms
• Drive the development and operationalization of AI/ML solutions, business intelligence and data visualizations that support the business objectives of the product teams
• Build and develop a team of high performing data analytics talent including data engineers, data scientists and machine learning engineers
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to drive solution adoption, identify and prioritize data analytics needs that drive growth and innovation in product development
• Be the chief advocate of the value of data and analytics including engaging executive leadership and business stakeholders to enable data-driven decision-making
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and data protection laws
• Develop and implement a consistent data and analytics delivery methodology, including assetization, to ensure efficient delivery and speed to impact
• Manage relationships with third-party vendors and data providers to ensure data quality, accuracy, and security
• Lead the development of best practices for data governance, data management, and data quality assurance

For this role, we are looking for someone that is …

• Experienced: 10+ years of relevant experience in data and analytics, with 5+ years in a leadership capacity
• A data & analytics leader:
  • Ability to lead the conception and design of analytics use cases, as well as the management of KPIs and OKRs for end-to-end delivery
  • Experience building data and analytics platforms traversing on-prem and cloud environments, leveraging best-in-class technologies enabling use-cases ranging from real-time streaming to batch processing
  • Ability to build and develop a team of data and analytics specialists (e.g., data engineers, data scientists) and guide cross-functional teams to deliver innovative data and analytics solutions
  • Experience developing AI/ML models, business intelligence and visualizations from conception to production and maintenance
  • Mastery in interpreting and presenting statistics, organized and unstructured data analysis, predictive modelling approaches, and data visualization
  • Deep understanding of statistical analysis and AI/ML modeling techniques
  • Expertise in data warehousing, data modeling, and database design
  • Knowledge of R, SQL, and Python and experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI

• Creative: Willing to challenge the status quo; able to understand when and how to take appropriate risks to drive performance; thought leader and innovator in the creation of new tools, processes, and approaches to problem-solving
• A good communicator: Strong communication skills with ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization and aligning leaders on complex technical decisions
• Healthcare interested/experienced: Experience (or interest) in developing solutions for healthcare and knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards like HL7, FHIR, and DICOM
