Shift: This position will involve working at a variety of Adult Imaging Clinics within OU Health. Monday - Friday - Days

General Description

Under general supervision, produces radiographs and fluoroscopic images to aid the medical staff in the proper diagnosis and treatment of patients.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Operates standard radiology equipment to perform radiographic examinations and fluoroscopy studies, including intravenous pyelography, cystography, gastro-intestinal series and body section radiography
  • Assists physicians and performs specialized imaging procedures
  • Maintains records, inventory, and equipment for area responsibility
  • Provide patient care that is essential to the performance of a variety of procedures
  • Position patients so desired anatomy will be demonstrated
  • Administer contrast/medication in conjunction with imaging procedure.
  • Responsible for entering technical data into the computer; evaluates the radiographs and computer generated information to ensure technical quality.
  • Serves as a resource person for hospital and medical staff.

General Responsibilities:

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Currently enrolled and graduation within 6 weeks or graduate of an accredited Radiography program

Experience: None.

Licensure/Certifications/Registrations Required: Registration from the American Registry of Radiological Technology (ARRT) within 6 months of hire. Basic Life Support (BLS) from  American Heart Association upon hire.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:   Knowledge of the techniques of diagnostic radiology.  Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of radiographic equipment.  Ability to prioritize assignments.  Ability to assess, treat, and care for patients of varying ages.  Good communication skills, able to communicate in a positive clear manner with staff, patients, physicians and other hospital employees. Ability to work with others as a team to ensure quality patient care.
