About The Role    

In this role, you will be responsible for the operational implementation of controlling and accounting tasks for the entities of Aberdeen in Germany. You will review and support month end, quarter end & year end tasks pursuant to IFRS and Local GAAP, supporting BAU in Finance to cover additional tasks and new projects. You will also be involved in the implementation of SOX controls and documentation required by the Group, as well as preparing internal and external reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of the periodical and ad-hoc reporting, including preparatory activities (e.g. cash flow and movements) to Aberdeen Group Finance, the local management board and other reporting recipients

  • Active and intensive support/collaboration on preparation of annual financial statements

  • Processing of month end, quarter end, half year end and year end tasks, pursuant to IFRS and German Local GAAP

  • Local operational implementation of group wide budgeting- and forecast processes

  • Preparation of cost-type accounting, product cost and profit centre calculations

  • Preparation and posting of monthly accruals for expenses / revenues

  • Preparation and annotation of target/ actual comparisons and variance analyses

  • Reconciliation of balance sheet nominals.

  • Support on reconciliation of sub ledger vs. general ledger 

  • Functional quality assurance in terms of required account assignments for posting of transactions

  • Operating manual payment runs

  • Steering, oversight and control of outsourced Finance services

  • Oversight and control on intercompany accounting (e.g. transfer pricing costs & revenues)

About The Candidate

  • Extensive experience in a similar role

  • Very good feeling for figures and pronounced understanding of book-keeping and accounting

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Products

  • Ability to speak fluent English essential

  • Knowledge of ORACLE Cloud preferable

  • Relevant qualification preferable
