CONCESSIONS FLOOR SUPERVISOR

POSITION: Concessions Floor Supervisor      
DEPARTMENT: Concessions   
REPORTS TO: Concessions Manager
FLSA STATUS: Part-time Hourly, Non-Exempt

SUMMARY

ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for a Concessions Supervisor for Savor Black Tie at the Alamodome. This position reports directly to the Concessions Manager and is responsible for supervision and direction of utility workers and temporary labor employees in their duties of general building cleaning, as well as event room/hall set-ups and breakdowns as required by clients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervises and assists utility workers and temporary labor workers in the general cleaning of the facility.
  • Supervises and assists utility workers and temporary labor workers in the set-up of tables, chairs, risers and other associated equipment required for all meeting rooms and exhibition halls.
  • Works with the Operations Manager in the development of daily work tasks sheets and ensures that these tasks are completed in a first class and efficient manner.
  • Works in conjunction with the security staff to ensure that comprehensive energy conservation and security programs are adhered to in the daily operation of the building.
  • Trains staff in specifics of responsibilities and expectations and works with staff to develop and maintain a service-oriented attitude.
  • Assists in the development of safety and emergency procedures for the department.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervises a crew of utility workers and part-time temporary labor workers. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with ASM Global’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding; disciplining employees in conjunction with Human Resources; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ideal Candidates must have strong verbal communication skills and a professional demeanor.  They must be self-motivated and be able to stand for long periods of times. Candidate must be personable and guest service driven.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum two (2) years of supervisory experience.
  • Possess a strong working knowledge of facility housekeeping standards and practices as well as public assembly facility set-up requirements.
  • Possess a strong attention to detail and the ability and initiative to maintain the facility as a first-class facility.
  • Bilingual skills in English and Spanish desired.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail required.
  • Person must be able to lift and move heavy objects of varying weight and size.
  • Ability to effectively supervise a crew of custodial workers.
  • Ability to read and write in English.
  • Ability to motivate employees to maintain a high morale and positive attitude.
  • Ability to handle more than one task at a time by prioritizing tasks.

  • Incumbents in this position work in varying setting and will be subject to noise and some atmospheric conditions such as fumes, odor, dust, etc.
