Who will you be working with?
Our Freight Services division provides locomotive maintenance services to our customers, global freight and passenger railroads, helping them keep their locomotives running at optimal levels. This role will be on the Fleet Innovation and Transformation team and work closely with the Prognostics team. The Prognostics Technology team develops the most cutting-edge technological solutions that allow our customers to operate efficiently, safely, and effectively. The mission of the Fleet Innovation and Transformation team is to accelerate fleet transformation by consistently providing compelling solutions and innovative technologies that improve reliability, sustainability, and performance.
How will you make a difference?
The Director - Services Product Management is responsible for strategic investment and growth strategies for the Freight Services aftermarket franchise. Specifically, the person will define the strategy for the Remote Monitoring and Diagnostics and Maintenance Optimization product lines. This includes developing new business models and service frameworks and building and supporting an inorganic growth strategy. This individual will be skilled in cross functional leadership and be responsible for providing guidance to the organization and customers regarding portfolio development and multiyear investments. This role spans many activities from strategic to tactical and provides cross-functional leadership. Additionally, this person will be a champion for Product Management and will support the broader Services organization in integrating and proliferating a strong product culture across Services.
What do we want to know about you?
You must have:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
Minimum of 10 years of experience in Product Management/General Management or Software Engineering
Familiarity with solution delivery, development, and deployment with a demonstrated capacity for product conceptualization
Demonstrated commercial intensity and a relentless drive to win and grow the product line and craft win-win solutions with customers
Technical background and understanding of locomotives, digital solutions, and software development
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to form strong customer relationships
Strong business analysis, problem solving, and strategy development skills
We would love it if you had:
Experience leading multi-year technology investment programs
Experience with selling software/digital based solutions in the industrial space
Experience leading customer/industry engagements
Familiarity with the industrial technology and railroad industry
Successful experience working with mechanical and transportation departments of railroads
Prior Commercial/ Product Management experience
What will your typical day look like?
Define product vision, strategy, and roadmap for data and analytics portfolio, including new solutions that deliver highly profitable order and revenue growth
Work with customers to understand their needs and ability to purchase service solutions by understanding their operations, metrics, budgeting, and purchasing procedures and organizational dynamics
Define key requirements for new solutions based on customer success metrics and operations
Develop internal and external business models showing ROI for investments and new optimization services
Leverage market expertise to guide leadership and cross functional teams
Leverage domain expertise to build customer relationships and support account goals
Leverage product management expertise to build a world class product organization
Understand the competitive landscape and take appropriate action to protect and grow share
