Job Description

 

Summary

The Facilities Technician III maintains and repairs the facility's structure, equipment and grounds, which may include plumbing, electrical and HVAC. Performs skilled trades work, such as carpentry or painting in the construction, repair or alteration of structures such as walls, roofs or office fixtures. Works with manufacturing or process engineering in the installation or repair of building plumbing and wiring required in the production process. Makes periodic or special inspections of the premise to determine repair work necessary.

Position Responsibilities

  • Receives and completes daily Track-It™ facilities work orders which include, but are not limited to: minor electrical/lighting, plumbing, drywall, painting and ceiling tile repairs
  • Provides support on construction, repair, and maintenance activities such as landscaping, framing, modular assembly (cubicles), fabrication, painting, HVAC, plumbing and electrical
  • Supports all department moves, additions, or changes, including inter-office transportation
  • Operates a forklift to relocate materials and tooling
  • Utilizes aerial platforms such as scissor and boom lifts in order to repair equipment such as lighting and banners
  • Conference room / special event setup. Custodial maintenance support (in the event of an emergency)
  • Assists with preventative maintenance on all equipment such as machinery, building electrical systems, plumbing, modular systems, HVAC, etc
  • Assists in monthly EH&S inspections and maintaining a safe work environment
  • Assists with processing waste streams such as recycling, universal waste, and hazardous materials
  • May need to assist other departments in order to meet milestones or deadlines
  • Works on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues
  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Minimum of 2 - 4 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of MS Office software (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Understanding of and adherence to shop safety practices
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in the use of hand tools and machinery related to Facilities Maintenance
  • Experienced using a forklift
  • Experienced in common building repairs such as plumbing, light carpentry, painting, electrical, fabrication, etc
  • Valid California driver's license with clean driving record

Physical Demands

  • Ability to work in an office and manufacturing environment (Constant)
  • Ability to lift and move objects of varying sizes and shapes up to 50 lbs. (Occasionally)
  • Required to sit and stand for long periods; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard (Frequently)
  • Required to reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear (Frequently)

The salary range for this role is:

$26 - $34
