Summary of Role:
This role supports the Implant Equipment Engineering team in maintaining equipment readiness, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities in a wafer fabrication environment. The intern will gain hands-on exposure to semiconductor manufacturing equipment while supporting safe, reliable, and efficient module operations.
Essential Responsibilities include:
Support preventive maintenance activities, basic troubleshooting, and tool recovery tasks for Implant equipment to sustain equipment readiness and minimize downtime.
Assist engineers and technicians in executing maintenance procedures, following SOPs, documenting checks, and ensuring proper handover of line issues.
Monitor equipment performance indicators, SPC charts, maintenance records, and basic technical data to identify trends and support improvement actions.
Participate in equipment improvement, housekeeping, safety, and wafer scrap reduction initiatives in collaboration with engineers, specialists, manufacturing, and module teams.
Other Responsibilities:
Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
Required Qualifications:
Education – Actively pursuing a diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Microelectronics Engineering or related field through an accredited degree program during the time of internship.
Must be in good academic standing.
Language Fluency - English (Written & Verbal)
Ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior related internship or co-op experience
Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc.
Project management skills, i.e., the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong planning & organizational skills
Basic understanding of semiconductor manufacturing, wafer fab operations, cleanroom practices, or equipment maintenance concepts.
Interest in hands-on troubleshooting, data analysis, SPC monitoring, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement activities.
