Job Description:

As a Product Manager – Medium Distribution Transformer you will play a vital role in ensuring the management and successful introduction of products in our portfolio. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee product specification, standardization, and customer approval management processes. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, and project management departments to ensure the seamless integration of products into the production line and meet customer requirements. This role can sit in Jefferson City, MO or remote.

Responsibilities:

Product Specification Management:

Collaborate with engineering and design teams to define product specifications and features based on customer requirements and market trends.

Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify product gaps, opportunities, and potential areas of differentiation.

Translate customer needs and market demands into clear and detailed product requirements, including technical specifications, performance benchmarks, and quality standards.

Define and document product specifications, ensuring alignment with manufacturing capabilities and process requirements.

Establish product standardization guidelines and protocols to ensure consistency and efficiency in manufacturing processes.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for component standardization, cost reduction, and process optimization.

Coordinate customer approval processes, including product samples, prototypes, and trial runs, in collaboration with sales and engineering teams.

Liaise with customers to understand their specific product requirements, address concerns, and manage expectations.

Facilitate communication and feedback loops between customers and internal teams to ensure alignment and timely resolution of product-related issues.

Monitor customer satisfaction, gather feedback, and utilize insights to drive product enhancements and improvements.

Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, and sales teams to ensure the successful launch of new products in the factory.

Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to optimize product design for manufacturability and scalability.

Provide guidance and support to manufacturing teams during the transition and ramp-up phases, addressing any product-related challenges or issues.

Act as a liaison between product development, manufacturing, and sales teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment throughout the new factory launch process.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in product management, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong understanding of product development processes, manufacturing techniques, and quality standards.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and meet project milestones.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to gather and interpret market data and customer insights.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and build relationships with customers.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and continuous improvement.
  • Experience with customer approval processes and managing customer relationships is preferred.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards in the industry is a plus
  • 25-50% travel
