Provides Personal Investor governance and risk expertise to support divisional and enterprise initiatives. Delivers effective guidance, oversight, and assurance services that promote sound decision-making and strategic enablement. Develops and maintains governance frameworks that support risk identification, mitigation, and continuous improvement across business processes. Partners with stakeholders to embed governance principles into operations, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and regulatory expectations.

Core Responsibilities

• Provides governance and risk oversight across Personal Investor divisional initiatives, leveraging Vanguard’s risk management framework to ensure alignment with corporate standards and regulatory expectations.
• Manages the efficiency and effectiveness of risk management within the business. Sets measurable goals and examines ways to raise standards, to increase quality and to improve overall risk management efforts of the team. Monitors progress and measure departmental success in identifying and managing risk exposure.
• Leads and assists the business in the development, implementation and management of short- and long-term risk management strategies in accordance with department goals and objectives as well as standard risk management policies and procedures.
• Works with the business to mitigate risks and optimize process efficiency. Uses industry best practice knowledge to design effective controls and makes recommendations for developing new risk management strategies for the business. Provides consultation, facilitation and analytical support to the divisional management team as new products, services, processes and procedures are developed to ensure risk is properly mitigated.
• Develops strong relationships with enterprise and divisional clients to understand their governance needs and risk profiles. Serve as a thought partner in shaping solutions that drive strategic value
• Assesses the design of existing controls and make recommendations, leverages industry best practice for improvement as needed.  Understands the risk management framework and utilizes the core concepts when discussing risk exposures with the business.  
• Supports cross-functional initiatives and special projects, contributing governance expertise and enablement insights to drive successful execution and sustainable outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years related work experience, with two years experience in risk management, governance or enablement roles.

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred.

• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.

• Proven ability to collaborate across functions in a complex environment.
