We are seeking a Senior Manager of Accounts Payable to join our global Accounting Operations team. Reporting directly to the Director, Accounting Operations, the role will be a key business partner and point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, will direct a team of individuals responsible for invoice processing, payment preparation and vendor management, and is accountable for the overall success of the global Accounts Payable and Vendor Management processes. The successful candidate has a thorough understanding of the procure to pay process, demonstrates outstanding critical thinking, enjoys solving problems and collaborating cross-functionally to support business objectives and new initiatives, and strives to be coach/mentor to Accounts Payable staff. The role requires the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, system savviness, and a high level of customer orientation.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Invoice Processing

· Responsible for the AP team’s accurate and timely processing of invoices for payment for eight legal entities

· Oversee and manage invoice posting issues; monitor SAP reports for blocked, parked, and aged invoices; review invoice approval status; ensure account reconciliations performed timely; proactively engage cross-functional team members to resolve issues

· Act as an escalation point to resolve issues or concerns, determine root causes and address gaps

· Identify opportunities for automation and improvement; support key initiatives such as SAP invoice approval workflow

Vendor Master

· Manage the vendor master data function and ensure the integrity of vendor master data:

o Deploy a deep understanding of pertinent master data classifications, account groups, and fields such as address types, tax IDs, banking, payment methods, contacts, reporting elections, and their downstream impacts

o Review new vendor master data records and changes to existing data, ensure accuracy and adherence to policies

o Implement required solutions to address emerging business requirements, internal controls; help streamline global operations

· Manage ongoing electronic payment transition and monitor banking verification status

Payments

· Lead the weekly payment run process for eight legal entities, manage the various payment types and currencies, obtain required approvals, and ensure payments are processed timely and accurately

o Prepare payment proposal batches in SAP

o Review Host-to-Host (H2H) payment exceptions, resolve issues and process reversals

o Process cash applications in SAP for non-H2H payments

· Provide cash requirements to coordinate payment run funding

Other

· Assess and respond to AP staff’s needs; hire, advise, train, empower and develop team members

· Assist in preparation of related month end close schedules, entries, and reconciliations

· Identify areas for improvement or automation

· Prepare required annual filings such as Form 1099

Minimum Requirements:

· 6-8+ years related accounting experience, including 3 years managing A/P and related processes

· Pharmaceutical or Biotech industry experience a plus

· B.S. degree in Accounting or Finance

· Proficiency with ERP systems; SAP preferred, including system implementation projects

· Demonstrated written and verbal ability to communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders at all levels

· Understands the importance of being a support service function and builds stakeholder relationships

· Strong leader with ability to coach and develop team members

· Proactive, makes independent assessments and presents possible solutions timely

· Acts with integrity, understands internal controls within Accounting Operations

· Problem solver, ability to engage and empower others for successful outcomes

· Must be proficient in MS Excel and have a working knowledge of other MS Office Software
