Summary

This position is responsible for the effective and efficient operational support of all third-party and internally managed IT technology solutions used to enable business process across the enterprise. This individual will have a diversified background of technical experience, demonstrated project management acumen and excellent vendor management skills, be an adept leader of people, plus have a superior, service-oriented approach to IT. This individual is also responsible for operational service management processes to ensure quality, efficiency, and productivity goals are achieved. This role leads the development and execution of the IT strategy, and ensures its alignment with the enterprise's business strategy and the delivery of capabilities required to achieve business success.

Description

  • Provides direction and oversight for the operations and support of IT systems that fulfill the needs of the business, and provides input to direct reports responsible for all aspects of IT.
  • Fosters a business-oriented culture and mindset driven by continuous improvement techniques.
  • Leads the development and management of the IT strategy and roadmap, and ensures its integration with enterprise strategic plans.
  • Leads the development, evangelization and utilization of the company’s business intelligence, dashboard and information resources.
  • Works with business operations and department / functional teams to ensure good coordination of IT changes without impacting business processes.
  • Develops and controls the IT annual operating and capital expenditure budget and manages expenses to stay within plan.
  • Maintains currency on new technologies and service management practices, and provides direction on what emerging IT technologies and methods should be introduced, integrated and assimilated within IT.
  • Provides oversight for vendor and partner relationship management.
  • Works closely with GTO to execute an IT "people strategy" that aligns with the business strategy. Continually looks for leading-edge and innovative solutions to the recruitment, development and retention of the IT workforce.
  • Works with the IT management team to forecast future skill needs to acquire and develop an IT workforce with the appropriate mix of business knowledge, technical skills and competencies. Works toward a balance between growing the agility required to achieve digital business objectives and ensuring the core IT functions are reliable, stable and efficient.
  • Provides leadership, coaching and direction to the IT management team and staff.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or commensurate experience
  • 10+ years' experience in a leadership role of a team, including team management and coaching, budgeting responsibilities, and executive engagement.
  • 5+ years of experience defining and managing metrics in coordination with contractual and business needs.
  • Experience with vendor outsourcing models, managed services and transition management to include mergers and acquisitions.
  • Strong business acumen in managing costs, developing business cases, and delivering cost effective solutions.
  • Experience in process improvement and Lean delivery efforts.
