About Salesforce

Salesforce is the #1 AI CRM, where humans with agents drive customer success together. Here, ambition meets action. Tech meets trust. And innovation isn’t a buzzword — it’s a way of life. The world of work as we know it is changing and we're looking for Trailblazers who are passionate about bettering business and the world through AI, driving innovation, and keeping Salesforce's core values at the heart of it all.

Ready to level-up your career at the company leading workforce transformation in the agentic era? You’re in the right place! Agentforce is the future of AI, and you are the future of Salesforce.

Role Overview

As a Senior Member of Technical Staff (SMTS) – Developer Productivity & CI/CD, you will be a key technical contributor on Salesforce's global engineering platform team. You will own equally the twin pillars of this role: Developer Productivity Engineering — reducing friction, improving tooling, and accelerating developer velocity — and CI/CD Platform Engineering — building, scaling, and maintaining the continuous integration and delivery infrastructure that powers Salesforce's global engineering organization. This role blends deep technical expertise with cross-team collaboration to deliver data-driven insights, scalable build infrastructure, and a world-class developer experience.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

* Developer Productivity Engineering: Identify, measure, and eliminate systemic friction in the developer lifecycle — including slow builds, flaky tests, complex tooling, and inefficient workflows — using data-driven methodologies (DORA, SPACE) to measurably improve developer velocity.
* CI/CD Platform Engineering: Design, implement, and maintain robust Continuous Integration and Delivery pipelines using Harness CI and Jenkins, ensuring high availability, low latency, and consistent throughput across the global CI/CD ecosystem.
* Developer Tooling & Portals: Develop high-performance internal developer tooling, dashboards, and CLI utilities using modern frontend technologies (e.g., Svelte) alongside backend services — making it easier and faster for engineers to build, test, and ship.
* Build Infrastructure: Build and optimize software-defined infrastructure for centralized build repositories and configuration management across on-prem and cloud environments, following Salesforce's infrastructure standards.
* Kubernetes-Based Build Environments: Implement and optimize containerized build/test workloads on Kubernetes (EKS), including resource tuning, autoscaling configurations (e.g., Karpenter/KEDA), and ephemeral agent lifecycle management.
* Metrics & Observability: Instrument and maintain engineering productivity metrics (DORA, SPACE) by building automated data pipelines via Airbyte and observability dashboards using the ELK Stack, Datadog, Prometheus, and Grafana — surfacing actionable insights to engineering teams.
* Security & Compliance: Integrate automated static analysis and software composition analysis (Veracode SAST/SCA) into CI/CD pipelines, enforcing quality and security gates to shift left on application security.
* Build System Optimization: Serve as a subject matter expert on multi-language build systems (Maven, Gradle, Ant), optimizing dependency trees, build caching, and distributed build execution to reduce cycle times for large Java and Python codebases.
* Infrastructure-as-Code: Author and maintain modular, idempotent IaC configurations using Ansible and Chef to eliminate environment drift and enforce compliance baselines across build agents.
* Version Control & Source Integrity: Contribute to and enforce Git/Perforce branching strategies (e.g., trunk-based development), pre-commit/pre-merge validations, and branch protection policies supporting hundreds of concurrent developers.
* Incident Response & Troubleshooting: Provide expert-level root-cause analysis for complex CI/CD infrastructure failures, leveraging deep knowledge of Linux internals, distributed systems, and APM tooling.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

* Degree: Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) or equivalent
* Field of Study: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline

Experience

* Minimum: 5+ years of progressive experience in Developer Productivity, DevEx, DevOps, Build/CI Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering
* Demonstrated ability to deliver impactful, production-quality systems in large-scale enterprise environments
* Experience working on or closely with developer experience or platform engineering teams is strongly preferred
