Position Summary

The Assembler A Performs a wide variety of duties required in the complete assembly and packaging of all units in the product line with minimum supervision.

This position will be temporarily based in Freetown, MA for a maximum of two years.

Measures of Success:

  • Timely painting and assembly operations in PHE
  • Accurate cycle times for building and painting PHE’s
  • Flexibility between PHE departments and final assembly department.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Works from drawings, specifications, travel tickets, and weekly production schedule.
  • Uses protractor, squares, rulers, power wrenches, hand drills and other common tools.
  • Check weekly production sheet for units to be processed.
  • Study drawings and specifications and perform prescribed assembly operations. Uses hydrostatic test equipment to check completed units prior to QC and AI Inspections.
  • Performs basic maintenance work, as needed.
  • Monitors quality of work, makes corrective adjustments and reports equipment malfunctions, defective materials or other unusual conditions to Supervisor.
  • Uses material handling equipment, as needed, to move heavy weight materials.
  • Maintain work areas in neat, clean and orderly condition and observe all safety regulations and procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or directed.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least one year of manufacturing experience, preferably in a fabrication environment and specifically with tube bundle and heat exchanger fabrication expertise.
  • Use of drawings, specifications, travel tickets and production schedules; use of adjustable measuring instruments where interpretation is required involving basic skills knowledge
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and effectively apply to assigned work
  • Ability to navigate multiple windows in company Enterprise Resource Program (ERP) system to access production and resource data
  • Ability to perform repetitive work requiring constant alertness or activity, and including standing and lifting
  • Ability to manage time effectively to meet strict time deadlines and production volumes
  • Requires judgment to comply with instructions, prescribed routines, methods and practices

Work Environment

The Assembler A will work primarily in a production setting where safety equipment or personal protective gear is required. Frequent exposure in production plant where large equipment and noise are prevalent.  

This position has no direct reports.
