The Data Transformation Manager will play a critical role in supporting the MCE (MidCorp & Entertainment) data and reporting needs, including the development and enhancement of the MCE data store. This position will oversee reporting processes and access, with a focus on supporting TSA (Transportation Security Administration) and ASA (Airline Service Agreement) requirements and financial data needs during the data store's buildout phase. The role will serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) during the MCE data store development, working closely with IT, performing initial User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and maintaining issue and UAT tracking via Smartsheet. As the overall owner of MCE data, this role will guide cross-departmental users on data-related questions, collaborate with Data Governance on quality issues, and support statistical and regulatory reporting requirements.

*This is a hybrid role, requiring in-office presence twice a week at one of our offices in Jersey City, Hartford, or New York City.

Responsibilities:

  • Reporting Ownership:

    • Manage reporting processes and access for the MidCorp & Entertainment business, with a focus on TSA and ASA requirements.

    • Oversee the migration of reports from FTP to SharePoint.

    • Ensure reports are accurate, reliable, and consistent.

    • Analyze report contents to assess availability and accuracy of data.

    • Guide users on available reports and database resources.

  • Issue Management:

    • Organize and review data and reporting issues or enhancement requests.

    • Coordinate with relevant SMEs to resolve issues and implement enhancements.

  • Process Creation:

    • Develop efficient processes for meeting ASA reporting requirements.

  • MCE Data Store Development:

    • Act as SME during the development of the MCE data store.

    • Serve as the primary point of contact for IT regarding data-related questions.

    • Perform initial UAT for all test packages before presenting to the Super User group.

    • Maintain Smartsheet Issue & UAT tracker.

  • Solution Development:

    • Provide short-term and long-term solutions for XDR-related issues.

  • Governance and Quality:

    • Prepare and present topics for discussion with the Data Governance Committee.

    • Collaborate with the Data Governance VP and Lead to address data quality issues.

    • Assist with data cataloging and defining data dictionary elements unique to MCE.

  • Regulatory and Statistical Reporting:

    • Support the Statistical team with Verisk regulatory reporting requirements.

    • Develop processes and onboard new technologies to meet reporting needs.

Education and Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in the North American property and casualty insurance industry.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Data Science, Finance, Accounting, or an equivalent field (preferred).

  • Strong analytical and communication skills.

  • Self-motivated, organized, and goal-oriented, with the ability to take full ownership of responsibilities.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within teams.

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.

  • Strong problem-solving skills.

  • Knowledge of data-driven processes and technologies.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

  • Experience with SnowSQL or SQL (preferred).

This position requires a results-driven individual who can navigate the intersection of data management, reporting, and governance, driving improvements and ensuring compliance across all areas.

For individuals assigned or hired to work in the location(s) indicated below, the base salary range is provided. Range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.

$110,000 - $148,000/year

  • Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs. The above pay range may be modified in the future.
