Registered Nurse (RN) Pediatrics
FT Nights (7P-7A)


The Pediatric Unit at UMC Children’s Hospital is a 25 bed unit, serving patient’s ages 0-20. A nurse in our Pedi unit will be able to grow and learn in a team-oriented atmosphere where medical and surgical care is provided using a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach. Combining the talents of more than 30 specialists and subspecialists, children at UMC are treated for a wide range of needs that can include trauma, general surgery, cardiology, neurology and neurological surgery, oncology/ hematology, endocrinology, and burn care. The nurses on Pediatrics possess a desire to serve children and families in our service-oriented atmosphere.
Job Summary:

Registered professional nurse who assesses, implements or delegates, plans, and evaluates total nursing care and functions in accordance with established philosophy, providing and directing patient care for a group of patients. Relates effectively with other shifts/departments for optimal continuity of care.


Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
Valid Texas RN License/Eligible Compact License
Must maintain a current BLS and PALS certification from American Heart Association
BSN required or must obtain with 3 years.
Minimum of 1 year of acute care experience required.
Certified Pediatric Nurse Certification preferred
