Job Summary:

To stock shelves, racks, cases, bins, and tables with merchandise and arrange displays to attract customers. To sell merchandise and collect payment.

Education & Experience

High school diploma/GED and prefer one (1) year of related experience.

Certifications, Licenses or Registration required: N/A

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of the principles and processes for providing customer services, verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, ability to operate a cash register with multiple types of transactions, ability to count and make change, ability to comply with applicable policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Answers customer’s questions about merchandise and advises customers on merchandise selection.
  • Itemizes and totals customer merchandise selection at checkout counter and accept payment for purchases.
  • Displays and re-stocks merchandise.
  • Confers with supervisor to identify items to be reordered or replenished.
  • Rotates merchandise on a first in, first out basis.
  • Cleans display cases, shelves, merchandise, and work area.

Physical and Environmental Demands
Requires constant work produced subject to precise measures of quantity and quality, frequent bending, occasional lifting and carrying up to 10 pounds, occasional climbing, occasional crouching/stooping, occasional kneeling, occasional pushing/pulling, frequent reaching, occasional sitting, constant standing, occasional twisting, and occasional walking.
