As a Platform Architect II, you will work closely with business stakeholders to assess requirements for platforms and services and architect, implement, and operationalize complex technical solutions. You will have a key role in building customized solutions that meet business needs, while mentoring junior engineers.
What you will do:
- Develop tools and processes for automated deployment and monitoring of AWS cloud infrastructure and applications.
- Improve and augment infrastructure and security monitoring tools.
- Automate data resiliency and replication based on policies.
- Create high-level reference architecture documentation for stakeholders.
- Lead projects through the full life cycle: assess/design/pilot/implement/operate/optimize.
- Work with development teams to troubleshoot production issues and optimize applications.
- Mentor junior engineers and peers with less experience in cloud environments.
- Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
You Need to Have:
- 7+ years of related technology experience, to include at least 4 years as an infrastructure/platform/DevOps engineer or similar.
- 2+ years of cloud infrastructure experience.
- Strong experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, Lambda, CloudTrail, GuardDuty, AWS Config, and AWS Organizations.
- Advanced expertise in infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Proficiency in Python. Proven expertise, experience, and skills around the most up-to-date coding languages and approaches in the field of platform engineering.
- Proven expertise in the architecture and design of complex distributed systems environments.
- Experience with AWS Lambda runtime languages (Python, NodeJS, Go).
We'd Love to See:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or similar certification.
- AWS Certified Security – Specialty.
- Azure certifications and experience with Azure services.
