The Business Transformation Manager plays an enabling role in driving organizational change and evolution to achieve strategic objectives by enhancing strategy translation and activation in the division. The Business Transformation Manager coordinates divisional programs and activities, leads high-impact strategic initiatives, and develops strategic communications and reporting in support of the Member Services Division and its senior leadership. This role is accountable for identifying opportunities and developing activities for strategic advancement of the Member Services division, including embedding Continuous Improvement and Change Management disciplines within Member Services’ operations. This role identifies, drives and delivers strategic initiatives and business improvements that are aligned to Member Services’ strategic themes and key results.
As part of the Business Management team, reporting to the Senior Manager, Business Transformation, this role collaborates with Business Transformation Managers & Business Process & Application Manager.
Coordinate divisional activities that support strategic outcomes and advance change management (examples: MS Strategy Forum, Quarterly Strategy Performance); design and implement approaches to move MS Strategy forward.
Develop and implement frameworks and best practices to advance strategic direction.
Develop strategic communications; Synthesize complex topics / concepts and create / maintain critical supporting documentation and artifacts; champion effective and standardized communication.
Responsible for preparing and communicating, where appropriate, divisional reporting on Run & Evolve outcomes by working with appropriate teams (Run Council, LPM, Insights)
Lead and deliver divisional strategic initiatives that achieve high impact to meet strategic priorities and key results using Agile Portfolio Management Framework
Effectively communicate decisions, progress, issues and outcomes and appropriately engage and escalate to Senior Leadership as required. Leverage extensive business knowledge and the ability to take both a macro and micro view to ensure optimal and sustainable solutions
Influence and liaise with multiple stakeholders across Member Services and Teachers’ and facilitate the articulation and delivery of objectives, critical success factors and outcomes
Challenge the status quo by identifying what initiatives/activities to stop / start / continue
Make recommendations that have a significant impact on strategic outcomes
Deal with problems requiring cutting edge approaches and champions innovation across the organization
Provide consultative direction with Management and Senior Leadership
Proactively troubleshoot challenges (e.g., performance gaps), risks and issues
Undertake high-level assignments with strategic impact
Synthesize business requirement, technology and implementation
Contribute to the development of Member Services strategy and provides business leadership in development of new initiatives, frameworks, processes or technologies in support of this strategy
Provide process, problem-solving and change management leadership for multiple initiatives and collaborates with Business Owners and Technology Leads to develop the right technology and business capabilities
Drive a continuous improvement environment throughout the organization
Manage the communication of progress against objectives and targets
Build strong relationships with stakeholders and demonstrate effective partnership and collaboration throughout the organization

Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferred
Change Management Certification preferred
Knowledge and experience leveraging continuous improvement methodology and tools (e.g., Lean, Business Process Management, Six Sigma, or equivalent)
Pension industry experience is preferred; knowledge and understanding of the Teachers’ Pension Act, policies and procedures and other relevant legislation an asset
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Visio, PowerPoint
Proficiency in workflow management systems (e.g. Camunda) and analytical tools (e.g. SAS, SQL, Cognos)
Proficiency in Simulation Software (e.g. AnyLogic, Simul8) preferred
Knowledge of SAFe agile framework preferred
University degree plus 5+ years of related business experience in a process, system and change delivery centric role
Demonstrated experience in leading process improvement / process redesign type initiatives
Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining strong working relationships with a variety of stakeholders across the organization
