Job Summary
The Senior Manager, Global Tax will be primarily responsible for the preparation/review of the global income tax provision, and managing the reporting and compliance for all federal, state, and international tax matters. The Senior Manager, Global Tax will also be responsible for tax research, international tax planning and modelling (e.g., GILTI, FDII, FTC, BEAT, Pillar II), and tax credits and incentives programs (e.g., R&D). Additionally, this position will support/lead efforts with M&A activities and other special projects.
Essential Functions
Oversee compliance related to annual US & Canada corporate tax filings including quarterly federal and state corporate income tax calculations. Responsible for US international tax compliance, including preparation and/or review of international tax calculations, such as GILTI, FDII, FTC, and BEAT, and Forms such as 5471, 8858, 8865, 1118, 8991, 8992, and 8993, and reporting statements as required.
Manage IRS audits and certain foreign country local income tax audits.
Evaluate and identify various international transactions to understand and communicate tax consequences, reporting obligations, and risks.
Responsible for the preparation of the global tax provision in accordance with ASC 740.
Oversees reconciliation and maintenance of global income tax accounts.
Advise internal project teams on various tax matters related to domestic and international proposals spanning direct and indirect tax.
Responsible for tax credit and incentives programs, such as R&D credit. Manage outside tax advisors and assist with documentation requests.
Responsible for preparing/reviewing required Country by Country Reporting (CbCR), OECD Pillar II and Japan CFC information for parent company.
Compile data and work with outside consultant on the preparation of transfer pricing calculations, ensuring proper documentation for intercompany services and other transactions.
Engage in special projects, including tax planning, mergers and acquisitions, provision, forecasting, corporate initiatives and identifying process efficiencies.
Required/Preferred Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required and
CPA or MST preferred
10+ years Tax Department work experience within a large multinational company and/or Big Four firm, including at least three recent years of direct international tax responsibility
Experience with Subpart F, GILTI, FDII, BEAT, foreign tax credit calculations, 163(j) and other international reporting rules.
Experience with Oracle, Hyperion and/or OneSource RS tax compliance software a plus
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Solid understanding of ASC 740 and U.S. federal taxation
Strong oral, written, computer, interpersonal, analytical, and technical communication and presentation skills including MS Office proficiency
Excellent organizational skills with proven ability to handle multiple demands and competing priorities.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a complex global environment and build positive business relationships with all parties.
Experience with modeling financial impacts of proposed and final tax legislation, identify risks and opportunities and present recommendations.
