Job Summary

Strategic Analytics is a growing team at Arch that has established itself as a driving force in how the business is run. This is achieved through the implementation of real-time predictive analytic solutions that move the company forward. Our track record is 100% adoption of our tools and services. Data plays a critical role in our mission. We create best-in-class data solutions from internal and external sources by leveraging a diverse set of cloud technologies like Snowflake, the Azure tech stack, Databricks and Python.

As a software engineer on the implementation engineering team, you will develop cutting edge solutions that put analytics at the heart of decision-making. You will work closely with other members of the Strategic Analytics team on high-profile analytics projects that drive business strategies. As a key member of the implementation engineering team, you will extend our capacity to deliver and push the team forward.

This is a Remote role, with a high preference for candidates in the Jersey City, Hartford, or Raleigh vicinities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop software solutions to machine learning and MLOps needs using Python and SQL

  • Contribute to the development and deployment lifecycle of batch and real time analytics services

  • Review, unit test, and debug code

  • Use SQL, Python and Snowflake to understand underlying data and processes, suggest improvements for performance and best practices

  • Collaborate with internal and external project stakeholders including project managers and developers 

  • Manage code development and deployment using Azure Data Factory, VS Code, Databricks, Function Apps, and GitHub 

  • Contribute to evolving best practices

  • Document technical workflows and implementation processes

Required Skills/Experience

  • 1-3 years of involvement in data/implementation engineering projects

  • 1-3 years of Python development experience

  • 1-3 years of API development experience

  • Git experience

Desired Skills/Experience

  • Experience in an Insurance environment

  • Experience with Azure Functions, Snowflake, Databricks, and Event Hub/Kafka

  • Familiarity with the MLOps as a concept and event driven architecture

  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and design

  • Basic collaboration and relationship building skills

  • Comfortable handling ambiguous concepts and breaking down complex problems into manageable pieces

  • Resilient problem solving and critical thinking skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively to different target audiences

  • Flexibility – able to meet changing requirements and priorities

Education

  • College degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Data Analytics, or equivalent

For individuals assigned or hired to work in California, Colorado, Hawaii, Jersey City, NJ; New York State; and/or Washington State, the base salary range is listed below. This range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.

$65,000 – $95,500/year

  • Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs.  The above range may be modified in the future
