The Boston Dynamics People Operations Team has an opportunity for an experienced HR Business Partner to join our growing organization. As an HR Business Partner, you will play a crucial role in aligning and integrating business objectives with the needs of managers and employees within designated business units. In this capacity, you will report directly to the Director of People & Culture, working closely to build and nurture strategic partnerships across the People Operations function. You will provide expert guidance on various HR-related initiatives, including workforce planning, performance management, employee development, and organizational design. You will actively participate in designing and implementing programs that enhance employee engagement and retention. Your ability to navigate complex situations while maintaining a positive work environment will be essential. What you will work on:
Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
Provides day-to-day performance management and employee relations guidance to management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
Conducts weekly meetings with respective business unit and function leaders.
Provides HR guidance to line managers in respective business units when appropriate.
Manages, proposes solutions for, and resolves complex employee relations issues in partnership with managers. conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
Analyzes HR data to identify trends and contribute to the creation of HR insights that enable the diagnosis of business issues, enhancement of employee engagement, and/or improvement of business performance.
Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal department as needed/required.
Provide specialist advice on the interpretation and application of policies and procedures, resolving queries and issues, and referring very complex or contentious issues to others.
Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.
Collaborates with other People Operations departments and business unit leaders to develop programs and processes that support employees and facilitate the accomplishment of organizational objectives.
Ensures equity, fairness, and process compliance for internal movements such as promotions and transfers.
Assists employees with international assignments and related HR matters.
Identifies training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs.
Participates in the evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
What you bring:
Minimum of 8 years in a Human Resource environment with at least 4 years experience resolving complex employee relation issues.
Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
Bachelor's degree preferred.
SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential or ability to obtain certification within one year of employment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and business acumen.
Proficient with Workday or related software.
