What you'll do...

Position: Software Engineer III

Job Location: 860 W. California Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94086

Duties: Assists in providing guidance to small groups of two to three engineers, for assigned engineering projects by providing pertinent documents, directions, examples, and timeline. Provides support to the business by responding to user questions, concerns, and issues (for example, technical feasibility and implementation strategies etc.). Researches and identifies needed solutions, determining implementation designs, providing guidance regarding implications of new and enhanced systems, identifying short- and long-term solutions and directing users to appropriate contacts for issues outside of associate's domain. Participates in small to large-sized complex projects by reviewing project requirements, translating requirements into technical solutions, researching, and identifying alternative solutions. Contributes to all phases of the development life cycle and writes well-designed, testable, efficient code. Determines needed solution based on return on investment and value add to the business by gathering requested information (for example, design documents and product requirements etc.) then writing and developing code also conducting unit and regression testing. Builds CI/CD pipelines for deploying code in production and setting up alerting and monitoring. Communicates daily status and issues to team members and stakeholders, collaborates with project team and cross functional teams, identifies areas of opportunity and interpreting information and identifying a solution. Ensures solution is sustainable across implementation and use. Troubleshoots open issues and bug-fixes and ensuring on-time delivery and hand-offs. Troubleshoots business and production issues by gathering information (for example, issue, impact, criticality, possible root cause). Performs root cause analysis to reduce future issues and engaging support teams to assist in the resolution of issues.  Develops solutions by driving the development of an action plan and performing actions as designated in the plan by interpreting the results to determine further action and completing online documentation. Participates in the discovery phase of small to medium-sized projects to come up with high level design by partnering with the product management, project management, business, and user experience teams.

Minimum education and experience required: Master’s degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (any) or related field. Position does not require specific years of experience but requires listed skills.

Skills required: Experience coding in Java in an object-oriented programming language. Experience designing and implementing REST API web services using Java. Experience with J2EE technologies including JSP, Servlets, Struts, Spring, Hibernate, Java Standard Tag Library, Custom Tag Libraries, JDBC, JSF, JUnit, JMS, XML, and Web Services. Experience designing and developing APIs using Spring MVC which support JSON and XML format for the responses. Experience using STRUTS and SPRING frame works. Experience using build tools including Jenkins, Ant and Maven. Experience logging and monitoring tools including Splunk and Medusa dashboards. Experience using various version control tools including SVN, Tortoise Git, and Source Tree. Experience with scripting languages including JavaScript, Angular.JS and Node.JS. Experience with networking components. Experience with SQL, PL/SQL, Stored Procedures, Joins and Triggers with databases including Oracle, DB2, and MS SQL Server. Experience with MongoDB, NoSQL data modeling, tuning, disaster recovery and backup. Experience writing Unit Tests using JUnit, TestNG, and Mockito. Employer will accept any amount of graduate coursework, graduate research experience or experience with the required skills.

Salary Range: $117,000/year to $234,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.   Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
