The key purpose of the Senior Accountant role is to provide leadership and oversight in ensuring rigorous adherence to processes, policies, and regulatory compliance standards, while overseeing the timely, complete, and accurate accounting for assigned legal entity(s) within BMI. This includes not only maintaining alignment with BMI policies and standards but also taking a proactive approach to ensure compliance with local statutory regulations. 

Additionally, the Senior Accountant is responsible for delivering qualitative and continuous support to our Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) partner, leveraging their expertise to drive efficiency and effectiveness in operations. Furthermore, the Senior Accountant is tasked with leading efforts to achieve and continually improve upon R2R accounting KPI targets, demonstrating strategic thinking and initiative in optimizing financial performance and processes.

What you will be responsible for:

• Act as a key R2R team member of assigned scope of markets while driving the resolution of complex queries raised by accountants, team lead, manager, finance partners & other internal and external stakeholders

• Investigate & analyse accounting software (SAP, HFM) related process flow issues following find it-fix it-solve it approach

• Perform first level Trial Balance review while identifying material variances and coordinating required adjustments posting

• Monitor month-end closing progress while following eClose status 

• Contribute while promoting GBS Finance Hub service tool & monitoring the status of tickets on a regular basis

• Analyse financial data and make recommendations for accounting issues & controls

• Act as SME and SPOC of the assigned R2R process (ex. intercompany flow, BS reconciliations etc)

• Coach and mentor R2R accountants in regards to the end-to-end accounting knowledge including newcomers

• Suggest ideas  and drive initiatives related to the process improvements

• Act as a TL backup while sharing the scope of assigned responsibilities in TL  absence

• Assist R2R TL with the requested deliverables for various analysis or strategic decisions making

• Ensure ongoing cooperation with the Sr Accountants of L2C/S2P towers to improve existing end-to-end processes and ensure timely issues resolution

• Maintain long-term collaborative cooperation with the L2C/S2P towers, BPO partner & business stakeholders

• Support audit processes and ensure collaboration with external auditors 

• Other ad-hoc requests assigned by the R2R TL or manager

About you:

• At least 3-5 years of proven professional experience in accounting preferably within GBS or SSC

• In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP, IFRS)

• Advanced ERP process flows understanding (SAP etc)

• Advanced Consolidation System user (HFM etc)

• Fluent in English language skills

• Proficiency in using Advanced MS Excel and/or Google Sheets

• Strong problem-solving skills 

• Process-minded and analytical thinking

• Strong engagement with all  stakeholders

Salary ranges from 3000 to 3600 euro gross depending on your experience.
