This role include repairs (both returns and field), technical support or a field service or other service request. Responsible for departmental operations planning/execution or is focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results.
The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Technical Coordination & Documentation
- Organize, communicate, and document technical work effectively.
- Draft and manage key documents, including Method Statements, non-conformance reports (NCRs), root cause analysis (RCA) reports, project schedules, and resource plans.
Training & Mentorship
- Develop the technical skills of over 60 supervisors across the MEA region to support Maintenance and E&C projects.
- Serve as a technical resource and mentor for less experienced team members.
Strategy & Problem Solving
- Utilize deep technical knowledge and critical thinking to propose solutions that go beyond standard procedures.
- Analyze data from various internal and external sources to make sound, independent decisions.
- Lead small, low-risk projects and drive team consensus on technical topics.
People Management
- Provide indirect people management, including staffing support and performance development.
- Communicate performance expectations clearly and handle sensitive personnel issues as required.
Collaboration
- Work autonomously while coordinating closely with the Field Service, Project, Tooling, and Planning managers to meet customer expectations.
- Apply best practices and ensure seamless integration across different functional areas.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science (BS) in Engineering Technology or a diploma with relevant work experience
- Minimum 6 years of experience as a Technical Manager, Field Service Engineering, and/or Engineering on Gas Insulated Substations (GIS)
- Experience in customer relationship management, project implementation, and technical analysis
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Fluency in English
- This role requires around 10% travel across MEA region
