Northrop Grumman Defensive Systems has a need for a Sr Staff Systems Engineer on our Integrated Mission Solutions (IMS) team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing subject matter expertise on our Electronic Warfare (EW) programs, including hands on integration and technical mentoring. Our ideal candidate will possess technical expertise, a drive to lead from where you are, collaborative people skills, and the proven ability to work within a technically diverse and fast-paced team. This position is in Warner Robins, GA and requires that you work on-site daily.
Roles and responsibilities will include:
Provide EW leadership and direction across multiple programs and mentor other engineers in radar principals and EW techniques.
Act as an advisor to management, co-workers and customers on advanced EW applications.
Maintain external customer contact to understand their technical needs and drive innovation within the company to meet industry needs.
Serve as EW system subject matter expert that oversees technical development, integrates multiple efforts and sets a vision for the future.
Perform hands-on integration and testing of radar and EW systems, including both hardware and software components in development and production environments.
Generate and update system and sub-system level specifications, ensure verification traceability, develop test plans, perform analysis of test results and prepare comprehensive reports.
Basic Qualifications:
Must have 14 years of relevant experience with Bachelor of Science in Engineering; 12 Years with Masters; 10 Years with PhD.
Experience providing subject matter expertise for Radar or Electronic Warfare systems.
Experience troubleshooting and resolving complex HW/SW integration problems.
Experience using system engineering design methods, including requirements analysis, interface control documentation, HW/SW design, and developing test plans and procedures.
Experience in aviation and/or Department of Defense programs.
Must be proficient with RF test equipment.
Must currently hold an active U.S Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with the ALQ-161 system.
Experience with MATLAB or equivalent programming/analysis languages.
Experience developing system simulation frameworks, performance models and algorithms, threat models, and command and control models.
Experience in digital signal processing, digital beamforming, adaptive processing, or tracking algorithms.
Experience in development, integration and testing of large-scale systems.
Experience in performing aircraft functional test.
