As a Material Planner your role is essential to sustaining food supply for future generations through your development of a raw material strategy, in collaboration with our vendors, warehouses, manufacturing, commercial, and supply chain teams, all in support the production schedule. 

Key Material Planning responsibilities:  

 

  • Own the material planning strategy for raw materials and packaging, including inventory management, safety stock and safety time, supplier forecasting, ordering patterns, and resiliency planning.

  • Ensure timely procurement of materials in the right quantity and quality to support production while minimizing production and storage costs.

  • Plan and manage raw material and packaging procurement and scheduling to meet production requirements, aligned with inventory strategy and lead times.

  • Manage and communicate supply impacts resulting from production plan changes, minimizing upstream and downstream disruption to the MPS.

  • Lead crisis management efforts by resolving complex supply issues, defining mitigation and prioritization plans, and communicating with key stakeholders.

  • Develop and manage mid‑term (12‑month) procurement plans; prepare and share forecasts with suppliers to ensure alignment and readiness for demand changes.

  • Partner cross‑functionally with Planning, Project teams, Procurement, and suppliers to maintain demand visibility and supply continuity.

  • Define and maintain inventory strategies by analyzing data and trends to set appropriate safety stock or safety time levels.

  • Monitor and improve inventory health, identifying slow‑moving, low‑turn, unhealthy, or expiring materials and driving corrective action plans.

  • Address raw material and packaging service or quality issues from manufacturing, initiating return and resolution processes with Quality and Procurement.

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and cost, improve processes, and clarify roles and responsibilities.

  • Represent Material Planning in Modify & Improve Supply Chain (M&ISC) initiatives and cross‑functional projects.

  • Contribute to supply resiliency planning with Procurement, Science & Technology, and Regulatory teams, acting as the Voice of the Business.

  • Support supplier volume allocation decisions in alignment with Artwork and Manufacturing teams.

  • Ensure accuracy, governance, and maintenance of raw material master data

What Skills You Need:  

  • BS/BA in Supply Chain, Business Management, Sciences or Engineering, Procurement, or other supply related field and/or equivalent supply chain experience.

  • Understanding of fundamental supply chain principles and concepts through education, professional training or on-the-job experience is highly preferred

  • Technical proficiency in the use of multiple computer applications and sound analytical skills are necessary

  • Experience with MRP processes is highly valued

  • Continuous improvement mindset

  • Project management experience is a plus

  • Advanced level of English (fluency is a plus)
