Primary Function

The Appraisal Coordinator II is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Corporate Appraisal Fulfillment Department. The department oversees all appraisal assignments in progress for Direct to Consumer, Retail, and TPO channels and ensures all aspects of appraiser independence compliance are met. The Appraisal Coordinator II works together with several departments as necessary, including Sales, Collateral Review, Underwriting, Processing, and Production to provide efficient fulfillment of appraisal reports for loan origination. The Appraisal Coordinator II is also responsible for assisting management with loan level escalations and overall appraisal fulfillment process improvements.

Principal Duties:

  • Ordering and managing of appraisal orders including facilitating the following items as necessary:
    • Appraisal payment collection from Customers.
    • Locating the most qualified appraiser to complete an assignment.
    • Ensuring that the assigned appraiser has accurate assignment information and supporting documentation to complete the appraisal report.
    • Obtaining additional information or clarification from Sales, Collateral Review, and Underwriting as needed for the appraiser.
    • Providing updates to Sales and Processing regarding the status of appraisal assignments.
  • Pipeline management includes Conventional, FHA, USDA, non-QM, Jumbo, and VA appraisal orders.
  • Comply with all State, Federal, and Company policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Keep management informed of and assist with loan level escalations.
  • Participate in department meetings to improve the appraisal management process.
  • Performs related duties as assigned by management.

Education and Experience

Required education and experience.

  • High school diploma or equivalent, required.
  • 2-4 years’ related experience.
  • Experience in the mortgage industry a plus.
