About the role:

The Maintenance and Movers Team is essential to maintaining and operating The Lighthouse as a seamless, functional, and inspiring campus. Reporting to the Studio Manager and General Manager, and working closely with the Events Manager, this team ensures the facility operates at its best by supporting maintenance, logistics, and event setup needs. They also assist with production load-ins and load-outs to ensure smooth operations for creators and members. Additionally, they contribute to maintaining the outdoor areas of the campus, assisting with landscaping and clean-up efforts to keep the campus environment pristine and welcoming.

Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:

Facility Maintenance and Repairs

  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance, addressing issues with lighting, plumbing, HVAC, and general infrastructure.
  • Perform minor repairs and assist with vendor coordination for larger projects.
  • Proactively identify and resolve maintenance needs to maintain a high standard of functionality.

Production Support

  • Assist with production load-ins and load-outs for creators and studio users, ensuring efficient and safe movement of equipment and materials.
  • Support the Studio Manager with setting up production spaces, including arranging equipment and furniture to meet client needs.

Outdoor Maintenance and Landscaping

  • Assist with outdoor maintenance tasks, including minor landscaping, sweeping, and debris removal to ensure a clean, safe, and inviting campus environment.
  • Coordinate with vendors or external teams for more extensive landscaping projects as needed.
  • Monitor outdoor spaces regularly and address any issues promptly, such as broken fixtures or overgrown vegetation.

Setup, Moves, and Logistics

  • Prepare spaces for events and meetings, including arranging furniture, decor, and equipment as directed by the Events Manager.
  • Handle furniture and equipment moves within the campus, ensuring proper placement and safe handling.
  • Maintain an organized storage system for tools, equipment, and materials.

Event Support

  • Work closely with the Events Manager to ensure all logistical elements for events are prepared, including AV setup, furniture arrangement, and troubleshooting during events.
  • Assist with event breakdown and resetting spaces for day-to-day use.

Cleaning and Stewardship

  • Partner with the Stewarding Team to ensure spaces are clean and well-maintained before and after events or productions.
  • Address immediate concerns in common areas to uphold a high standard of cleanliness and functionality.

Inventory and Supplies Management

  • Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies, ensuring everything is in working order and adequately stocked.

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Experience in facilities maintenance, landscaping, logistics, event setup, or a related role.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Familiarity with tools, maintenance techniques, landscaping practices, and safety procedures.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a fast-paced environment
  • Strong collaboration skills to work with the Studio Manager, Events Manager, and other team members.
  • A proactive, problem-solving attitude with a keen eye for detail.
  • Enthusiasm for supporting creators and events in a dynamic, creative campus setting.
  • Adaptability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as scheduled.

The anticipated rate of pay for this position is $22.00 an hour
