For almost 20 years, Avid4 Adventure has empowered pre-K- 12th graders with the skills and confidence to paddle, bike, hike, climb and thrive in the outdoors. Each year we employ hundreds of Seasonal Staff to serve thousands of campers and our Directors and Assistant Directors are an integral part of this success. Each Camp Leadership Team is responsible for ensuring the delivery of safe, high quality and efficient programs. They also provide mentorship and training to our Seasonal Instructors and are responsible for creating a positive, inclusive, and memorable work environment. If you are seeking meaningful work as a leader in our outdoor recreation community, we invite you to join us this upcoming summer!
We are hiring Camp Leadership for all of our camp programs including:
Day Camps:
California, Director, Assistant Director, & Understudy (hybrid instructor role)
Colorado: Director, Assistant Director & Understudy
Portland: Director & Understudy
Bellevue: Director & Understudy
Expeditions: Program Coordinators in both California & Colorado
Overnight Camps: Assistant Directors at both Blue Sky & Windy Peak
In this role you will
Bring the Avid vision to life; ensure our camps are operating at a high quality and that parents, campers and staff have positive experiences at Avid4 Adventure.
Lead and empower Camp Instructors by providing mentorship, hosting engaging staff meetings and continuing education segments, and fostering a positive, inclusive workplace.
Complete behind-the-scenes administrative work to include creating camp and staff schedules, uploading pictures, ensuring compliance standards are being upheld, conducting payroll audits, and ensuring logistical accuracy.
Provide excellent customer service to our campers and parents by addressing problems immediately, communicating clearly and frequently, responding to parent survey feedback, and guiding staff on Avid4 best practices.
Manage the risk in your program to minimize the number of incidents. You will participate in incident response and oversee the timely completion of incident reports and first aid forms.
Fulfill the role of instructor on an as needed basis.
You will love this role if
You find fulfillment in furthering our mission to “inspire kids to live active, outdoor lifestyles” and take pride in searching out how to provide our campers, parents and staff with an unmatched experience.
You can seamlessly move between a multitude of responsibilities; from nailing down your camp's logistics to leading engaging staff meetings to approaching parent conversations with empathy.
You are equally comfortable out in the field leading programs and supporting campers and staff as you are behind a laptop completing administrative duties with attention to detail and precision.
You can speak to multiple audiences with ease, foster meaningful relationships, and inspire everyone around you with our mission.
You successfully develop and empower your instructors while working with them side by side, being present in the moment, and leaving the weight of work challenges behind you at the end of your day.
