Department Overview

The UK Human Resources team is a part of Motorola Solutions’ International Markets HR Team, operating within a complex matrix organisation. The UK & Ireland HR Team supports various client groups at offices throughout the UK & Ireland as well as a home based workforce. The Senior HR Advisor role will report directly into the UK & Ireland HR Manager.


Job Description

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with business partners, working with leaders to understand their priorities and work pro-actively with them to provide value added business focused HR solutions and interventions.

  • Educate leaders and employees on HR policy, process and procedure.

  • Provide coaching and training interventions.

  • Provide good practice HR advice, guidance and support to leaders and individual performers, including in respect of effective employee relations and employment law.

  • Operate as a trusted, credible Senior HR advisor.

  • Support all aspects of recruitment, performance management and remuneration activity.

  • Support in the development of job descriptions, job evaluation and salary benchmarking.

  • Embed and sustain a high performance culture where leaders take ownership. 

  • Support organisational change, restructuring and development. 

  • The role also requires:

    • Daily contact with leaders at all levels as well as employees.

    • Regular contact with other members of Professional Support Services, primarily legal counsel, Finance Business Partners and Talent Acquisition.

    • Contact with suppliers and third party providers, for example external legal counsel, recruitment agencies and system hosts.

Technical Expertise;

  • Academic and Technical Qualifications:

    • CIPD qualified or equivalent.

    • Educated to degree level (preferred/not essential).

Other technical expertise, experience and knowledge:

  • A proven track record of providing HR support at all levels.

  • A proven track record of managing employee relations.

  • A sound knowledge of current and future employment law.

  • Experienced in Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace

  • Good IT literacy.
