The Opportunity  

This position works out of our Alameda, CA location in the Diabetes Care division where we are focused on helping people with diabetes manage their health with life-changing products that provide accurate data to drive better-informed decisions. We’re revolutionizing the way people monitor their glucose levels with our new sensing technology. 

As the Senior Manager, Business Development you will be responsible for sourcing and executing new transactions/partnerships (e.g. global partnerships, licensing, investment, acquisition opportunities) which are aligned to our division’s strategic goals in addition to alliance management of partnerships once they are signed.

What You’ll Work On 

  • Initiate and maintain relationships with potential partners in future transactions.

  • Attend trade shows to gather market intelligence and meet with potential partner companies.

  • Work with internal stakeholders to identify areas of interest for transactions and to help evaluate potential partners.

  • Lead cross-functional diligence teams to identify, assess and make recommendations regarding transaction risks and opportunities.

  • Perform research using secondary sources to analyze opportunities or landscape areas of interest.

  • Utilize internal or external groups to get feedback on business development strategies.

  • Prepare presentations for management with overviews, analyses and financials of specific transactions under consideration.

  • Partner with Corporate Business Development team to provide information to Executive Management and respond to management requests for information or analysis, as necessary.

  • Contribute to periodic reporting to executive management regarding business development activity.

  • Help to structure and negotiate deals to provide and protect value for the division.

  • Work with Finance and cross-functional team to develop financial models with reasonable assumptions.

  • Manage alliance management functions associated with existing partners, including cross-functional alignment on issues, being the interface between the external and internal stakeholders and maintaining quarterly calls with each global partner.

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree required. 

  • Minimum of 8 years relevant business experience with Bachelor’s degree, minimum of 5 years with an advanced degree. 

  • Prior experience must include business/corporate development, investment banking or private equity.

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Advanced Degree

  • Alliance/Partnership management experience

  • Consulting experience is strongly preferred

The base pay for this position is

$144,100.00 – $288,300.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
