Position summary:
Operate backwinder. Load orders onto Portable Creels. To be able to strip cones from Portable Creels, Operate R-coners.
Educational requirements:
High school diploma or GED required
Skills and experience:
Basic mathematical concepts including fractions, decimals, and percentage preferred.
Previous textile experience a plus.
Good communication skills, verbal and written.
Essential duties:
BACKWINDING SIDE:
Read and understand instruction on backwinding order sheet for splitting cones
Continuously supply full vendor packs and partial packages on creel to be processed
Insure all full and partial cones that are to be run on one head are spliced together to assure smooth transition between ones to minimize machine down time
Continuously keep overhead magazines full of empty cones
Continuously tie-up completed packages and deposit them into proper container
Deposit all yarn scraps into specific containers to be recycled
Correctly label each box of split yarn by type, color name and number, dyelot, and number of cones
Maintain a daily log of production
Follow proper procedures for rethreading machine in order to produce cones of consistent quality
Read and understand run schedules and confirm that the yarn's type and color match those specified on the order.
Determining pattern on each run.
Insure yarn is on proper number of cones.
Identify different types of yarn.
Read PC patterns Threadups.
Insure numbers on case labels and in cones match color and numbers on orders.
Splice yarn into creel.
Recycle all scraps and other recyclable materials and minimize trash.
Assist in moving PC in loading area when need arises.
Must be able to assist Utility Operator in moving portable creels.
RECLAIM SIDE:
Remove cones from Portable Creels for reclaim.
Label all boxes clearly and correctly
Assist in moving portable creels to reclaim area when needed.
Read R-coner run sheets, write labels and place on boxes
Count the cones in the boxes and write the number on the labels
Match cases assigned to order with cases delivered by material handlers.
Remove finished cones from R-Coner, place into box and label box.
Operate R-Coner
Remove empty cones from machine and place into appropriate boxes
Willingness to learn and understand Interface's commitment to sustainability
Maintain housekeeping
Comply with safety rules
Comply with environmental regulations
Be aware of departmental Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
Ensure ISO procedures are followed.
Understand and support Interface commitment to sustainability.
Perform other duties as assigned
Physical demands:
Lifting up to 30 lbs
Must be able to lift 10 lbs over head continuously.
