This role is responsible for providing the allocated sales team with the leadership, direction and resources to ensure sales targets are achieved and to liaise with Head of Sales and Marketing as appropriate to ensure short-and long-term sales strategies are executed by the team.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Direct the activities of the state sales team for the achievement of short- and long-term business objectives, increased profit and market share within the state-based CRM portfolio.

  • In consultation with the Head of Sales, translate sales - data/analysis into day to day working sales and marketing strategies and driving these through the sales force.

  • Maintain regular contact with identified Key Opinion Leaders within the state to increase CRM brand.

  • Actively seek, identify, analyse, and present new business opportunities and improvement ideas to Regional Sales Manager on an ongoing basis.

  • In conjunction with Head of Sales and field staff negotiate major deals and ensure tenders are managed with customers and other stakeholders.

  • Manage the state sales team e.g., recruitment, retention, development plans, succession planning, training etc.

  • Ensure that local expense budgets are managed in consultation with Head of Sales.

  • Review and approve sales employees' expenses in accordance with financial and Abbott policies.

  • You may be required to work outside of your ordinary hours of work to participate in essential training, team meetings, customer events or trade shows/conferences. These events may take place on an evening and/or weekend.

  • People Management and Development- Lead, develop and manage an effective, engaged and motivated team.

            Attend regular departmental meetings with relevant manager/supervisor to build in continuous feedback mechanisms.

            Meet the requirements of ISO by complying with all relevant Quality policies and procedures to ensure the Quality objectives of the business are met.

On Call
 

         This role requires participation in the relevant on-call roster applicable to your role.

Certification

It is a requirement of your role that obtain and maintain certification as specified by Abbott.

Qualifications:

 Essential

         Tertiary Qualification in a Science, Biomedical, Medical Science, Business Management or related fields essential.

         Comprehensive Cardiovascular medical device Industry Knowledge.

         Proven track record in delivering sales targets in a complex, solution selling environment.

         Ability to manage a sales territory and lead a sales and technical team.

         Good understanding of the medical/healthcare industry process and function; able to convincingly discuss this with customers, as well as internal and external experts.

         Previous experience working in the medical devices, healthcare or pharmaceutical industry in a sales management role
