How You’ll Make an Impact:

The Technical Analyst Sr is responsible for having a strong aptitude for understanding complex business problems and translating their technical knowledge into practical, implementable solutions that will drive high impact business value. The Technical Analyst Sr works closely with other team members to ensure application availability and system maintenance. This individual acts as the technical developer and lead on all assigned projects.

What You Will Do

  • Act as the technology SME and lead developer on assigned projects

  • Responsible for the release management and deployment of new applications

  • Continuously reviews development processes and methodology to improve business results verifies application designs are efficient and effective and meet corporate application quality standards

  • Define and implement technical strategies and architecture for software development projects

  • Works with the Application Manager and Development Manager to ensure coverage of support on the applications is always available according to the support model. Provides technical coaching and mentoring to other technical resources

  • Ensure adherence to best practices, standards, and regulatory requirements throughout the development lifecycle (SDLC)

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain system solutions

  • Produce and maintain thorough technical and functional documentation

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and successful project outcomes

  • Evaluate emerging technologies and methodologies to enhance software development processes and capabilities

Requirements Management & Product Owner liaison

  • May act as (or on behalf of) Product Owner for an application

  • Accountable for defining application specific requirements for integration with other systems

  • Deliver products and services compliant with the established quality standards (see IS Dev & QA quality scorecard)

  • Verify application designs are efficient and effective and meet corporate application quality standards

Oversees Testing, Training and Process re-engineering Activities

  • Plan and oversee testing of new releases and internal customizations

  • Develop and execute implementation plans for test and production environments

  • Act as a SME for training business users and education technology leads from other areas

Project Delivery

  • Coordination of smaller scale projects and application-specific initiatives - configuration, customization

  • Act as a technology lead on complex initiatives

  • Assist technical resources in analyzing business requirements of projects to establish estimates

  • Experience in leading (or taking lead tech role) on agile projects

  • Assist with coordinating the activity of the developers involved to meet the project milestones and deliverable date

  • Manage relationship with vendor to ensure all deliverables are met within agreed-upon SLAs

  • Excellent technical skills

What We’re Looking For

  • Completed University degree (preferably in computer science) or equivalent working experience

  • 8+ years of experience in software development, preferable in the financial services/mutual fund/insurance / investment industry

  • Hands-on development experience with Java frameworks

  • Knowledge of workflow & imaging systems and/or CRM systems
