Job Description:
Senior BIM/CAD Technician
Dubai
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior BIM/CAD Technician to join our team! In this role you will get to involve as CAD / BIM professional in the creation, modification, and management of infrastructure design drawings and models. This role will focus on model preparation, clash rendition and resolution. You will support on various stages of submissions for both client and stakeholders while coordinating with various discipline teams within multiple infrastructure projects, ensuring accuracy, quality, and adherence to project timelines.
What You'll Be Doing:
Work closely with CAD / BIM manager and Design Leads to ensure the project’s compliance with the given policies and processes, and to ensure timely implementation and completion.
Coordinate with different CAD teams, ensuring that the design inputs requirement and clashes are notified and deadlines are met.
Utilize a CAD workstations, CAD resources and works with BIM lead, Design Leads and Engineers to develop engineering drawings consisting of basic arrangements, layouts, flow sheets, assemblies, isometrics, component details from rough sketches and/or from general engineering and design information according to established standards and procedures, and to ensure timely implementation and completion.
Understand BIM modeling process and able to manage all BIM related activities from project start up to project completion.
Review each drawing for readability, presentation and adherence to standards, in accordance to company QA/QC process.
Good knowledge in content creation and able to create different types of parametric and non-parametric families.
Able to produce scheduling and quantity extraction from the model.
Ensure proper documentation of all design changes, drawing revisions, and project updates for future reference and auditing.
Manage the digital archiving of completed project drawings and related documents, maintaining an organized system for easy access.
Maintain effective communication with Team Leads, engineers, and other departments to resolve any design-related issues or discrepancies.
Implement quality control processes to catch errors early in the design process, avoiding costly revisions or project delays.
Customize CAD software and tools to optimize productivity and streamline design processes.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelors degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
Minimum 10+ years of MEA/UAE CAD drafting and BIM experience in Wet and Dry utilities projects with 3+ years of Utility Pipe Network Modelling.
Must have software experience in AutoCAD, Autodesk Civil 3D and Navis Work
Advance knowledge of Common Data Environment (CDE) usage and management for model production - Autodesk Forma and Bentley ProjectWise.
MicroStation Software knowledge is preferred.
Strong knowledge in LOD requirements.
Good knowledge in DEWA / DM / RTA standards and existing utilities management.
Good knowledge in BIM, understand LOD requirements and BIM processes.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
Proficiency in BIM software including Navisworks, Civil 3D, and AutoCAD.
Experience working to international standards such as ISO 19650.
Strong knowledge in Infrastructure Wet & Dry utilities Model and layout preparation.
Experience with clash detection, issue management, and model-based design review.
Support training initiatives and knowledge sharing within the BIM team.
Understanding of ROW related and cross sections / Routing plan preparation.
Capable of identifying issues and finding solutions to challenges during the design and review process.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
