Summary:

In this role, you will oversee functional teams in the Data, Analytics, and Business Intelligence Visualization domain, managing day-to-day operations and aligning team goals with company objectives. Spearhead the creation of healthcare-focused analytics and dashboards by integrating insights from diverse datasets, while providing financial reports, forecasts, and business analysis. Collaborate with department heads to meet analytical needs, focusing on cost, quality, and market performance to drive informed decision-making and enhance patient outcomes. Guides and mentors team members in career development, workload management, and talent requirements. Handle HR responsibilities including recruitment, retention, performance reviews, and corrective actions.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and monitor all activities of the data warehousing, data modeling, analytics and visualization departments and personnel.
  • Align departmental direction with business and technology standards.
  • Guide teams in solving usability, data integration, data migration, or general data engineering challenges to support intuitive self-serve analytics.
  • Develop talent strategy, addressing resource gaps, hiring, promotions, and performance management.
  • Provide management with data-driven insights that inform strategic direction and KPIs, determine the adoption of modular toolsets to drive innovation and business advantage, and support executive and leaders in making strategic, data-driven decisions.
  • Partner with stakeholders to implement the analytics roadmap by understanding use cases, solving problems, and disseminating methodologies to business and product analysts.
  • Support the implementation of the Data and Digital vision by leveraging cloud architecture to transform analytics environments and enhance business-critical processes, ensuring analytical solutions are re-architected, automated, stable, reliable, and secure.
  • Establish best practices for documentation, quality assurance, automation, code reviews, and data management, while fostering continuous improvement in user experience and self-serve analytics.
  • Lead the collaboration with internal and external clients to understand their requirements and develop dashboards that are both effective and efficient, ensuring optimal performance and usability.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree in business related or analytical discipline preferred; Graduate degree in analytics engineering, data science, computer science, informatics, analytics, or related field is strongly preferred.
  • 7 or more years of relevant experience required.
  • Experience with SQL required.
  • Experience managing a team of analytics engineers, data scientists, analysts, developers, and/or product managers highly preferred.
  • Experience in data modeling, including the design, implementation, and optimization of complex data models to support robust analytics and reporting solutions desired.
  • Experience in building data products and leveraging business intelligence tools, with a demonstrated ability to develop insightful dashboards, optimize reports, and support data-driven decision-making processes highly preferred.
  • Experience with Databricks preferred.
  • Experience with Power BI or MicroStrategy strongly preferred.
  • Healthcare experience preferred.

Estimated Hiring Range:

At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $117,600.00 to $194,200.00.
