The Solutions Consultant - FSI (Financial Services) is a Pre-Sales role, responsible for listening to customer challenges and gathering customer requirements in order to offer specific technical subject matter expertise to the sales function, supporting the business and functional aspects of Workiva's platform and solutions via presentations, product demonstrations, and communication of value-based messaging about the Workiva platform. Additionally, the job requires development of example solutions, prototypes, and proofs of concept to demonstrate viability and value of Workiva solutions.

The Solutions Consultant role is focused on supporting our Sales Team across Banks; Insurance; and Investment firms.  Workiva’s community of current customers in the Financial Services industry is extraordinary.  The successful candidate will be joining a high performing team within Workiva, working with many of the World’s most complex Financial Institutions.  This role has opened up reflecting the continued growth of our FSI client use of the Workiva Platform. Our FSI clients rely upon Workiva's unique platform to satisfy their stakeholders (internal and external) across Financial, Regulatory, ESG and GRC. 

What You'll Do

  • Interact with customers to determine their needs and develops solutions with current Workiva products to meet those needs

  • Consult with customers to determine their challenges and requirements

  • Create custom demo solutions for customers and prospective customers

  • Conduct process assessments with customers, builds Proof of Concepts to validate requirements, builds and presents customer specific business cases

  • Assist in developing new use-cases or by using existing templates providing proof of our solution's impact and value proposition

  • Provide project and relationship management to larger customers with broader needs

  • Collect feedback and learnings from custom service engagements to be leveraged in fixed scope, fixed fee services

  • Collect feedback from the field and provides it to Product Marketing and Product Development

  • Assist sales in developing account plans in support of Workiva strategies and objectives

  • Strong knowledge of Workiva products through a commitment to ongoing training

What You’ll Need

Minimum Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field

  • 4+ years’ experience in industry or prior experience as a Pre-Sales Solutions Consultant for a financial banking or investments software vendor, software implementation, service delivery, consulting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated knowledge within Financial Services, Bank Reporting , Insurance or Financial Reporting, platforms or related subject matter

  • A strong understanding of both Statutory Accounting Standards as well as Regulatory Reporting Requirements.

  • Experience engaging with and presenting to business or IT managers and executives

  • Ability to assess business needs and deliver a value-based, compelling software demonstration

  • Experience working within an Enterprise Technology Sales environment, ideally (but not a must) with SaaS technologies

  • Strong understanding of Post-Close reporting processes

  • Good understanding of SQL, data ingestion and data transformation

  • Experience in process improvement consulting

  • Experience with business intelligence technologies, databases or data management platforms (SAP, Oracle, Workday, etc.)

  • Experience working with fund reporting technologies (i.e. DFIN ArcReporting, Confluence Unity, FundHive, etc.)

  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills

Travel Requirement and Working Conditions

  • Up to 40% travel for customer and internal meetings

  • Reliable internet access for any period of time working remotely, not in a Workiva office
