Job Description: 

The IT Director - Direct Procurement and Factory Equipment is a senior technology and transformation leader responsible for defining, owning, and executing the end-to-end digital strategy for global direct and capital equipment procurement. This role is a cornerstone of the organization's IAO ERP transformation, driving modernization across sourcing, contracting, procurement execution, supplier collaboration, invoicing, and payments.
This leader owns a mission-critical SAP S/4HANA product portfolio and serves as a strategic
partner to Procurement, Finance, Manufacturing, and external technology providers. The
role ensures delivery of secure, scalable, compliant, and data-driven procurement capabilities that enable operational efficiency, cost optimization, and business agility at global scale.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategy and Transformation:

  • Define, govern, and execute a multi-year SAP S/4HANA roadmap aligned with enterprise modernization, supply chain resilience, and digital procurement objectives.
  • Establish outcome-based OKRs, investment priorities, and capability roadmaps tied directly to measurable business value and transformation milestones.
  • Serve as the technology thought leader and architect for Direct Procurement platforms, shaping long-term platform strategy and emerging capability adoption.
  • Influence enterprise architecture decisions to ensure interoperability, scalability, and future readiness across procurement ecosystems.


2. Delivery and Execution

  • Lead the global transformation of direct, indirect, and capital procurement processes leveraging SAP S/4HANA best practices and industry standards.
  • Own and continuously evolve core procurement capabilities including sourcing, contracts, procurement execution, supplier collaboration, invoicing, subcontracting, and payments.
  • Ensure scalable, multi-release delivery across complex, highly integrated global landscapes with minimal business disruption.
  • Provide hands-on leadership across multi-year programs managing 100+ interconnected systems and ecosystems, ensuring alignment, quality, and delivery
  • discipline.


3. Supplier and Contract Enablement

  • Own and evolve Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) capabilities through Icertis to drive contract compliance, visibility, and risk mitigation.
  • Lead enterprise document and records management using OpenText to ensure regulatory compliance, audit readiness, and lifecycle governance.
  • Enable seamless supplier collaboration, B2B integration, and EDI connectivity through E2open, improving supplier onboarding, data accuracy, and transaction automation.
  • Drive standardization and harmonization of supplier-facing processes across regions and business units.


4. Stakeholder Partnership

  • Partner closely with Procurement, Finance, Manufacturing, and IT leadership to drive adoption, change management, and sustained value realization.
  • Translate business strategy and operational needs into actionable technology roadmaps and executable delivery plans.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing insights on technology trends, risks, investment trade-offs, and transformation progress.
  • Facilitate cross-functional alignment between business and technology stakeholders globally.


5. Performance and Operations

  • Define, monitor, and continuously improve KPIs including touchless PO and invoice rates, cycle times, contract compliance, supplier performance, and on-time payments.
  • Ensure platform stability, security, and compliance, including GRC controls, segregation of duties (SoD), access management, and audit requirements.
  • Proactively identify and manage risks, issues, dependencies, and technical debt, ensuring operational excellence and resilience.
  • Establish operational governance models to support sustainable, high-performing procurement platforms.


6. Team and Vendor Leadership

  • Build, mentor, and lead high-performing global teams, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Establish strong vendor and systems integrator governance, ensuring delivery quality, cost effectiveness, and strategic alignment.
  • Drive talent development, succession planning, and capability maturity within the procurement IT organization.

7. Key Domains of Experience

  • Procurement Expertise: Deep experience in direct and capital procurement; spend management using SAP S/4HANA (MM/Central Procurement) and SAP Ariba.
  • Supplier Collaboration: Strong background in supplier management, contract lifecycle via Icertis, document management via OpenText, and B2B/EDI orchestration with E2Open.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Alternatively, a prolonged course of study in a specialized field or equivalent experience based on business needs or job requirements.
  • 12+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree, 8+ years of experience with a Master's degree, or 6+ years of experience with a PhD in software engineering leadership roles.
  • 10+ expertise in software engineering management, including secure code development and lifecycle practices.
  • 8 + years driving results through teams, managing performance, and enabling disciplined execution.
  • 8+ years technical guidance experience with strong problem-solving and group collaboration skills.
  • 5+ years of experience in SAP S/4HANA procure to pay and SAP Ariba with successful global rollouts and hypercare.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes, compliance, and financial controls (SoD, ITGC, GRC).


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Engineering Management, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in software development or technology strategy.
  • Background in organizational transformation, building effective teams, and fostering breakthrough thinking.
  • Experience implementing innovative engineering approaches and disrupting conventional practices.
  • Track record of delivering impactful solutions in semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing environments.
  • Strong systems thinking and ability to identify leverage points for enterprise-wide change.
  • Experience in semiconductor or high capital-intensive manufacturing highly preferred.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US: $220,320.00-363,860.00 USD
