Manulife is dedicated to fostering a culture of growth, innovation, and excellence. We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented HR Intern to join our Human Resources team. This internship provides an excellent opportunity for hands-on experience in various HR functions, focusing on Payroll and Employee Experience, Benefits Administration and Talent Acquisition.

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll & Employee Experience:

Staff Confirmation Administration:

  • Assist in the administration and processing of staff confirmations, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed accurately and timely.

Employee Queries:

  • Respond to employee queries related to HR policies, ensuring clear communication and understanding.

Certification Letters:

  • Prepare certification letters upon employee requests for various purposes such as bank account openings, Permanent Residency applications, Visa applications, etc.

Actuarial Increment Administration:

  • Assist in the administration of actuarial increments, ensuring accurate calculations and timely updates.

Corporate Passes Administration:

  • Administer corporate passes, including issuance, renewal, and management.

Government Paid Leave Administration:

  • Manage government paid leave administration on a quarterly basis, ensuring compliance with regulations and accurate record-keeping.

Regular MOM Surveys:

  • Conduct regular Ministry of Manpower (MOM) surveys, compiling and analyzing data as required.

Projects:

  • Write up Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for Government Paid Leave claims, ensuring clarity and compliance with government regulations.

Talent Acquisition:

Job Openings Communication:

  • Compile and send the list of job openings to staff on scheduled dates, ensuring timely and accurate communication.

Headcount Applications:

  • Support the headcount application and internal approval processes, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed accurately.

Ad-hoc Recruitment:

  • Assist with ad-hoc internship recruitment or other recruitment projects as needed.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Ability to work for at least 6 months, starting in December 20
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
