Role Definition
Supervises and manages prime product distribution processes & control tower activities to continuously improve the transportation distribution network performance.
Responsibilities
• Analyzing existing shipping processes, identifying existing gaps or pain points, and contributing to the improvement of existing processes or the development of new ones.
• Managing the assignment and scheduling of shipment-related activities based on priorities and storage requirements.
• Reporting any non-compliance and sharing them with their seniors.
• Measuring and improving performance of transportation suppliers and team
• Supervising the distribution of prime products by collaborating with factory, origin & destination teams, Product Groups, GCI, suppliers and dealers to ensure smooth flow and prompt delivery of shipments and goods.
• Lead transformation projects on New Technology Enabled Solutions and Capability deployment, manage change working with trade lane management team members and deliver business results
• Lead Continuous improvement projects, Lean projects to optimize end to end transportation network to achieve cost and competitive performance
• Set up, supervise and manage control towers to support prime product distribution shipment pre-planning, ocean booking and load tendering

Transportation - MFG: Knowledge of transportation; ability to transport materials and goods to and from suppliers, distribution centers, manufacturing facilities and customers.
Level Extensive Experience:
• Conducts joint planning with carriers to forecast short- and long-term transportation needs.
• Coaches others on using various approaches for assessing transportation alternatives and selecting optimum mode.
• Manages arrangements with all major modes of domestic transportation.
• Negotiates and monitors rates and service controls with major carriers.
• Participates in evaluation, selection, monitoring and termination of carriers.
• Collaborates with shippers to plan for and mitigate the transportation capacity crunch.
