Job Description
Peterson Cat has a need for a Corporate Parts Operations Manager who can be based at any company location.
SUMMARY
The Corporate Parts Operations Manager has responsibility for all Caterpillar parts operations and inventory control within Peterson’s Earthmoving division. This position works with Operations managers to ensure annual business plans and dealer excellence goals through customer service are achieved; develops and maintains the Parts business planning process, parts logistics and inventory control metrics and policies; and provides clear direction to all Parts Managers and senior management by supporting, mentoring, and serving as a subject matter expert.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Maintain extensive knowledge on Dealer Business System (DBS), Cognos, Parts Key Performance Indicator (KPI), CAT systems.
Manage DBS parts inventory control and DBS analytics work groups.
Implement and oversee a new Warehouse Management System (WMS) in all CAT parts departments.
Implement and oversee a parts order tracking system.
Develop a training program for Parts operations, including the WMS, front counter operations, and warehouse operations.
Evaluate all Parts departments for warehouse capacity and analyze future automated storage and retrieval systems to improve space density and efficiency.
Develop relationships with peers within the industry and other CAT dealers to benchmark processes and best practices.
Oversee the back-order office processes and teams to maximize critical parts availability.
Monitor emergency order and value performance and identify areas of opportunity.
Oversee, maintain, and develop Peterson’s parts logistics system/network
Support action plans with senior management to achieve Peterson targets for CAT doubling parts sales.
Assist with the rollout of the new phone system for all Parts departments
Consult on future parts call centers and parts technical support.
Monitor and be responsible for the Peterson Parts Dashboard.
Manage the CAT Parts Excellence Program (PEP).
Develop and maintain the Parts business plan and quarterly rolling 12-month (R12) forecast process with Operations managers.
Serve as key point of contact for CAT and other vendors for Parts inventory and Parts operations.
Oversee and maintain CAT semi-annual parts return process for surplus inventory.
Audit CAT worn core process for returns and credits.
Manage dead stock process.
Ensure compliance with CAT Parts policies, in particular the export policy.
Coach and mentor subject matter experts within the company on all areas of Parts operations and inventory control.
Identify best performing Parts operations within Peterson, document their best practices and further replicate across the enterprise as appropriate. Manage Best of the Best Program for Parts.
Foster team environment across departments, intercede to resolve challenges and build relationships.
Travel up to 30% of the time to branch stores to support corporate parts initiatives, meet with stakeholders, and perform other job functions.
Operate company or personal vehicle as needed.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree from a fully accredited college in Business or other closely related field; and a minimum of five (5) years of directly related experience in parts management, preferably in a heavy industrial environment; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Must possess extensive knowledge on Dealer Business System (DBS), Cognos, Parts Key Performance Indicator (KPI), CAT systems.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must maintain a valid motor vehicle operator’s license, with a satisfactory driving record
The minimum range for this position is: $95,000.00 - $130,000.00 (Starting wage will depend on location, experience and education. We also offer a total compensation package in addition to base salary.)
