This role requires in office work, twice a week in our Downtown Toronto Office without exception.

Provides production and end-user support and governance for the risk technical platform and system environment that supports risk data & control structures (e.g., process controls, user access controls, data integrity controls) to enable risk processes and operations. Supports and oversees the planning, maintenance and change management for risk system strategies, process changes, system parameter changes, production schedules, and operational tasks. Oversees the management of system parameter changes. Works with stakeholders to resolve issues and provide solutions that ensure service delivery and effectiveness.

  • Provide on-going support and expertise for Current Expected Credit Loss (CECL) /IFRS9 data inputs and related reports.
  • Collaborate with Development and operations team to automate and deploy routine reports into production.
  • Partner with Risk Reporting and other groups to meet Senior management and external ad-hoc request.
  • Develop and maintain ad-hoc reports/analytics using specialized query / database tools – e.g., SAS, SQL, Python, Excel, PowerBI.
  • Support T&O and Data Services in the delivery of CECL/IFRS9 data inputs to ECL calculation engine  
  • Design, develop and implement efficient reporting process for both operational and ad-hoc reporting.
  • Monitor and verify changes implemented in the production environments according to guidelines and policies.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on risk data, supporting methodology and modeling teams with data request.
  • Support data reconciliation and explain variances between risk systems and Finance general ledger.
  • Support and facilitate data and risk related analysis for the implementation of credit risk stress testing platforms for IFRS9/CECL.
  • Triage and resolve production issues affecting the reliability and quality of data. Manage issue resolutions affecting the reliability or quality of data provided to IFRS9/CECL platforms.
  • Identify, measure, and analyze risks; provide insights that contribute to improved business and identify required improvements to all processes.
  • Incorporate feedback from stakeholders into data and reporting enhancement.
  • Undertake other regular and ad-hoc reporting and analysis as required (from either senior management or external bodies)
  • Ensure completeness, accuracy and timeliness of reports in line with the Bank’s risk policies. Identify requirements to meet changing internal and external conditions.
  • Documents data flow, systems and processes to improve the design, implementation and management of business/group processes.
  • Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Typically, between 4 - 6 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of risk system management concepts and applications.
  • In-depth knowledge & experience with risk policy frameworks; quality control / testing frameworks.
  • Technical proficiency gained through education and/or business experience.

Salary:

$60,000.00 - $111,700.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
