Role and Responsibilities

Samsung Electronic America’s Supply Chain Team is responsible for ensuring product availability to meet forecasted demand by the Sales Subsidiary.  Forecasts are generated via consensus calls with Sales Teams, Marketing Teams, and with the Samsung Global Operations Center and tracked using spreadsheets, SAP, and Samsung Systems and Tools. 

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Assistant Manager to join the Supply Chain Management (SCM) team at Samsung Electronics. This is an exciting opportunity to support the development and execution of Samsung's global supply chain strategy and optimize its performance across the organization. The successful candidate will have a strong background in supply chain management and a proven track record of delivering successful operation result. They possess excellent communication skills and a strong passion for operational excellence.

The Assistant Manager, Supply Chain Demand Forecasting is responsible for leading part of product category and supporting a range of products and SKU’s and working with other Planners within the Department.  The assistant manager will play a critical role in managing demand forecasting, inventory optimization, and supply chain operations for a specific product category and leading part of team members. This position requires working closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Business Management, Sales, and Operations, to ensure timely delivery of products while optimizing inventory levels.

 Responsibilities

  • Manage Demand forecast +6months out to achieve weekly RTF, weekly OTRQ, and Revenue
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product Management, Business Management, Sales, GOC) to align on AP2 and Revenue target considering promotional activities.
  • Collaborate with Sales leader to review/discuss current month forecast vs Sales estimate and aging for current and next quarter and close the gap
  • Weekly Demand (PSI) Forecast management the SKU level
    • SKU level AP1/AP2 update and customer order commitment
    • AP2 Buffer process with Product Marketing
    • Aging/ATS risk management
  • Support weekly S&OP meetings to discuss operational and supply chain issues with key stake holders. (BM/PM/GBM)
  • Maintain proactive daily communication with the inbound and inventory teams to achieve department weekly/monthly goals
  • Support running weekly Sales meeting with SCM/PM/BM/Sales team
  • Reports and Metrics (including Demand Changes, Revenue Projection, Aging, Forecast Accuracy, etc)

Skills and Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years work experience in a relevant field or 2 years work experience with a Master’s degree work experience in relevant field: Supply chain, Product management, Finance, Logistics or similar.
  • Excellent Analytical and Computer Skills
    • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Outlook
  • Excellent Communications skills (written, verbal)
    • Must be comfortable presenting to and promoting consensus-building at the Executive level.
  • Must be comfortable working in a multi-regional business environment
  • Must be available to work over-time and on weekends to support international operations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Korean language skills (verbal & written) preferred by not required
  • Ability to think creatively and need to provide plenty of initiative and can work unsupervised
  • Project management skill is plus
  • Strong Math and Organizational Skills

The salary range for this role is expected to be between $104,000 and $128,500.  Actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, and comparison to other employees in the role.
