The Commercial Team is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to lead our testing, bug triage and prioritization processes. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is committed to delivering high-quality work. This leader will play a critical part in identifying, testing, and prioritizing software issues and enhancements to ensure optimal system performance. Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and a passion for supporting organizational success are essential.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Testing system enhancements to validate functionality and quality before deployment.
  • Overseeing bug triage processes, including identifying, documenting, and prioritizing system bugs for resolution.
  • Coordinating the prioritization of bugs and enhancements to align with business needs and timelines.
  • Collaborating with upper management and IT on operational issues as they relate to testing and bug resolution.
  • Managing IT stakeholders using Agile methodologies, with a strong emphasis on continuous improvement through effective testing and defect management.

This role is essential in supporting our team’s goals by ensuring that testing and bug triage activities are handled efficiently and effectively by working with both our business units to identify and prioritize problems and with our tech teams to resolve them.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Connect with external and internal customers to understand their needs and foster long-term relationships
  • Oversee bug/enhancement intake, triage, prioritization, create development-ready requirements and user stories, testing, IT sprint planning, release day activities, and system access management
  • Communicate and coordinate with upper operations, product, IT, and partner management on relevant issues, including major incidents and outages
  • Manage IT stakeholders utilizing Agile methodologies
  • Oversee digital sales and bundle funnels for all lines of business, recommending improvements to online sales performance and customer experience
  • Ensure adherence to the Code of Conduct, company policies, and operating principles
  • Meet attendance standards at the business location to support job functions and interactions with subordinates and management
  • Interview and approve job applicants; conduct and review performance appraisals; initiate or approve salary adjustments, performance ratings, and personnel changes
  • Manage, motivate, lead, and develop associates to adopt and drive positive change
  • Assess and develop leadership skills within the management team

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to, with or without accommodation, perform the essential functions which include, but are not limited to seeing, hearing, typing and speaking
  • Must be able to follow complex instructions, resolve conflicts or facilitate conflict resolution, and have strong organization/priority setting skills
  • Must be able to balance multiple priorities at the same time
  • Must be able to quickly understand system architecture
  • Must be able to learn and apply large amounts of technical and procedural information
  • Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years experience in the Property and Casualty insurance industry

Location:

  • Position is a hybrid role requiring regular in office attendance at one of our GEICO offices.
  • Travel will be required and frequency will depend on candidate location in relation to the team as well as business needs.


 

Annual Salary

$113,775.00 - $212,175.00

The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
