About the role

The Associate Director, Cloud & DevOps – Implementation & Operations leads the DHI Cloud Implementation team in India and is responsible for implementing cloud architecture, engineering patterns, governance models, and CI/CD frameworks defined by global platform leaders. This role executes cloud platform delivery across AWS, Azure, and GCP, supporting enterprise workloads such as SAP, factory and manufacturing systems, dealer and supplier ecosystems, marketing platforms, infrastructure systems, and digital products. A key mandate is to support FinOps practices and to lead a strong people development culture through hiring, coaching, training, and talent growth. This is an execution-focused leadership role—centered on delivery, operations, reliability, and financial stewardship—not strategy or architecture creation.

Key Responsibilities:

People Leadership & Development

- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing engineering team of 15 across cloud, DevOps, and platform disciplines.

- Drive hiring, onboarding, and capability development to ensure a strong multi-cloud engineering talent pipeline.

- Provide continuous coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to build deep technical and leadership capability.

- Implement structured learning plans, skill uplift programs, and cross-training across AWS, Azure, and GCP.

- Foster an engineering culture grounded in collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Delivery & Execution

- Implement cloud architectures, engineering patterns, and platform capabilities defined by global platform leadership.

- Use Agile systems and ceremonies (standups, sprint planning, retros, Kanban boards) to manage work visibility, flow, and prioritization.

- Ensure timely, high-quality execution of platform changes and enhancements.

Multi-Cloud Platform Implementation

- Build and operate networking, connectivity, infrastructure, Kubernetes, serverless, identity, and platform services across AWS, Azure, and GCP.

- Support enterprise and digital workloads including SAP, factory systems, dealer/supplier systems, marketing applications, IT systems, and digital products.

- Execute IaC standards and GitOps pipelines using Terraform and approved engineering patterns.

CI/CD & Developer Platform Enablement

- Implement enterprise CI/CD pipelines and templates across all clouds.

- Provide reusable golden-path pipelines, onboarding flows, and developer self-service capabilities.

Security & Governance Execution

- Implement guardrails, IAM models, encryption standards, and policy-as-code controls defined by Cloud Security leadership.

Operations, Reliability & Observability

- Own daily operations across AWS, Azure, and GCP including monitoring, incident response, change management, and DR.

- Partner with Cloud Operations & Observability on SLO/SLI implementation, dashboards, telemetry, and incident processes.

FinOps Responsibilities

- Execute cloud cost governance processes and ensure adherence to budgets, tagging policies, and chargeback/showback models.

- Analyze consumption patterns and drive optimizations in AWS, Azure, and GCP.

- Forecast cloud costs accurately and drive reduction of waste and unused resources.

Success Metrics (First 12 Months)

Platform Build-Out & Delivery

- Delivery of Secure IaaS capabilities across AWS, Azure, and GCP.

- Delivery of CI/CD-as-a-Service with reusable templates and onboarding flows.

- Launch of GCP as a fully supported enterprise cloud with landing zone, guardrails, and observability.

Developer Self-Service & Adoption

- Deployment of self-service provisioning for infrastructure and CI/CD.

- ≥70% adoption of standardized CI/CD patterns across development teams.

People Development

- Successfully hire and onboard key engineering roles to achieve full team staffing.

- Demonstrable uplift in cloud engineering capability through structured training and coaching.

Reliability & Operational Excellence

- ≥99.9% availability and improved MTTR.

- Full operational readiness for cloud services including runbooks, dashboards, and SLOs.

Security & Compliance

- Full implementation of security controls and policy-as-code across all clouds.

FinOps & Cost Efficiency

- 10–15% improvement in cloud unit economics.

- Forecast accuracy within ±5%.

- Reduction of unused/wasteful cloud resources.

Ways of Working

- Daily collaboration with US-based leadership.

- Participation in multi-cloud on-call rotation.

- Occasional global travel for planning and alignment.
