You will be working on remote schedule as part of Fidelity’s dynamic working arrangement. 

 

Who We Are 

Fidelity Clearing Canada (FCC) is the leading independent clearing broker and custodian in the Canadian market. We provide trade execution, clearing, custody and back-office support services to Canadian-based brokerage firms and the Canadian brokerage arms of U.S.-based firms.  

 

FCC is developing industry leading advisor platform capabilities for independent Portfolio Managers and Broker Dealer firms. This development will focus on providing integrated service, productivity, and revenue growth tools through a web-based advisor platform. This role will be part of the technology team tasked with developing these exciting business technology solutions.

The Full Stack Developer - Web, FCC is responsible for all aspects related to analysis, design, development and support of web applications at Fidelity Clearing Canada.  

 

In this role, you will work closely with other team members in a collaborative agile environment. 

 

What You Will Do 

  • The Full Stack Developer - Web, FCC is responsible for developing, enhancing, modifying, and maintaining software solutions for internal and external clients  

  • Provide solution architecture, document, design, code for new features/enhancing existing features, and ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented 

  • Ensure that functional specifications are technically achievable, while developing and enhancing solutions to support business objectives 

  • Implement the best practices of Agile and DevOps for development to deliver quality products predictably and consistently 

  • Develop unit tests to ensure high quality code and be accountable for the quality of the product delivered 

  • Complete documentation and procedures for deployment and maintenance 

  • Liaise with internal user groups as needed to effectively code applications based on business and systems requirements 

What We are Looking For 

  • 5+ years of experience in web development, object-oriented analysis and design 

  • Experience designing and developing web-based platform to implement new features 

  • Strong knowledge of modern web architectures like microservices, SOA, technologies like JDK 17, Angular 10, Oracle RBDMS, Knowledge/Experience of AWS (preferred), and processes like SDLC, Waterfall, and Agile 

  • Hands-on experience with the following: JDK1.8, JDK 17, Angular v10, Spring Core, Spring REST, Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring JDBC, RESTful API,  

  • Knowledge of SQL and database platforms such as Oracle, MS SQL Server 

  • Experience in using Agile project management tools (JIRA, Confluence), and automated delivery pipelines CI/CD, and ServiceNow 

  • Experience developing cloud native solutions (preferably in AWS) according to industry best practices. 

  • Unix/Linux operating system knowledge

  • Experience with cloud-based applications on AWS 

  • Prior experiences from financial services domain

  • Good multitasking capabilities and ability to work effectively in an agile environment. 

 

Education and Experience 

  • University Degree/College Diploma, preferably in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience. 

  •
