Here's the tl;dr:

  • We are on a mission to make programming biology easy. We provide biologists with generative machine learning, software & services to discover, design and optimize proteins in less time.

  • We're an experienced team. We have built many successful products before and we have raised enough funds to have plenty of runway for the years to come!

  • We're focused on building the best possible team culture. We're distributed across two locations, and are flexible about when and where we work.

  • We offer our employees a top of the market salary, a generous equity stake in the company and a wide range of benefits from health and wellbeing, financial, to training and career progression opportunities.

This is Cradle

Cradle helps teams to engineer proteins with fewer, more successful experiments. We use generative machine learning models, accessible through user-friendly software interfaces, to help engineer protein properties such as stability, expression, activity, binding affinity and specificity. We are bridge builders who bring together the best of machine learning, synthetic biology, developer tools, and user experience design. Our customers are the world's leading biopharmaceutical, agriculture, food, materials and consumer product companies. Our mission is to accelerate human and planetary health by enabling teams to bring new therapeutic proteins and high-performing enzymes to market in a fraction of the time and cost.

The Role

As a Scientific Solution Consultant, you are the primary scientific/technical solution lead who presents the capabilities, value and benefit of Cradle’s platform and services to key scientists, experimental and computational biologists, IT, and executives at prospects and customers.

You partner closely with Account Executives and other teammates on the Go-To-Market team throughout the entire buying journey. You stay up-to-date on Cradle's latest technical capabilities and proof points, and provide feedback to the product and technical teams on ways to improve Cradle's demo and offering.

Your Responsibilities

  • You will own and manage scientific and technical ‘discovery’ to understand the customer’s current landscape, uncover and identify customer projects, capabilities and challenges.

  • You will listen intently to customers’ protein engineering workflows and ask the right questions to understand how Cradle can best support their research objectives.

  • You will develop impactful presentations and deliver amazing demonstrations of Cradle’s offerings that address customer’s challenges, and differentiate Cradle from the competition.

  • You will manage customer questions and objections professionally and with insight and establish both credibility and trust in you and in Cradle with the customer.

  • You will attend industry relevant conferences and represent cradle to scientific and technical audiences.

  • You will bring your insights from the field back to our product teams and inform and influence our product roadmap for market success.

  • Provide internal leadership by developing best-in-class solutions, assets and content to help our customers, help your team and enable others to learn from your experience and expertise.

  • Mentor and partner with other SSCs to build their success and raise the bar.

  • Embrace and represent Cradle’s mission and values.

Your Qualifications

  • Scientific academic degree (MS, PhD) in biology or biochemistry. Eg. structural or molecular biology, bioinformatics, pharmaceutical sciences, biochemical engineering, or other.

  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience (post-degree), preferably in a solution consultant type role, and/or in related customer facing roles.

  • Experience with scientific/informatics software (LIMS, ELN, etc.) or other technical solutions sold/delivered into research and discovery functions is helpful. Especially if you demonstrated such solutions to research and computational scientists.

  • Ability to quickly understand various wet lab experimental workflows relevant to design of enzymes and therapeutic proteins is a must. Hands-on experience with designing and executing a variety of (high throughput) wet lab experimental workflows is a plus.

  • Experience with computational protein design (either as a grad student or professional), potentially involving use of AI/ML techniques, is helpful.

  • Excitement to bring your strong foundation in life sciences R&D, familiarity with research scientists' and computational biologists’ experience and tools they use, and excellent communication skills to translate Cradle's platform capabilities into value gains for scientists and research organizations.

  • Able and willing to travel 20-40%. Includes international travel (passport required).

  • We offer our employees a competitive salary, a meaningful equity stake in the company and a wide range of benefits from health and wellbeing, financial, to training and career progression opportunities.
