Key Position Details:

Join our team as a Pharmacist in a hybrid role, working remotely and onsite at the Allina Commons in Downtown Minneapolis. You’ll optimize patient medication regimens through manufacturer Prescription Assistance Programs, analyze profiles for cost-saving opportunities, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team to enhance healthcare quality. Additionally, you’ll provide counseling on new medications and therapeutic substitutions, ensuring patients receive effective, affordable drug therapy while complying with all regulatory standards.   • 1.0 FTE (80 hours per two-week period)

Job Description:

Supports providers and patients in assuring optimal patient medication therapy use by connecting patients with financial resources to assist in obtaining critical medications through the Allina Prescription Assistance Program. Practices in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations, following legal standards in all areas including, but not limited to, work rules, controlled substance requirements, state and federal regulations, and HIPAA regulations.

Principle Responsibilities

  • Patient medication optimization through utilization of manufacturer Prescription Assistance Programs.
    • Analyzes patient medication regimens to ensure appropriateness.
    • Reviews patient medication profiles and identifies potential cost savings opportunities.
    • Assists patients in all aspects of the application process for manufacturer prescription assistance programs.
  • Collaboration with Interdisciplinary Care Team.
    • Collaborates with physicians, providers, nurses, and other health professionals to better meet patients' needs while improving health care quality.
    • Recommends therapeutic substitutions as appropriate to optimize medication regimens while balancing cost considerations.
  • Provides counseling and consultation.
    • Provides counseling, as needed, on new medications and dose changes related to manufacturer-supplied medications.
    • Provides, upon request, consultation to clinic physicians, providers, and other team members to assist in determining affordable drug therapy options for individual patients.
  • Medication Management and Distribution
    • Complies with all laws and regulations pertaining to the management and distribution of medications.
    • Performs prescription processing, filling, quality assurance, and dispensing of manufacturer-supplied medications.
    • Follows legal standards in all areas including, but not limited to, work rules, controlled substance requirements, state and federal regulations, and HIPAA regulations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy OR PharmD from an accredited school of pharmacy
  • 0 to 2 years of identified pharmacy experience


Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 to 5 years of retail pharmacy experience


Licenses/Certifications

  • Licensed Pharmacist - MN Board of Pharmacy required upon hire
